@SaltyBitch_52 how about not turning this into what junk food you can afford

This lady volunteered as a helper on her kids field trip to the zoo. She brought extra snacks and then bought extra items in the park for her group. Other parents were upset that she did this because their kids didn’t get extra in their groups.
Should all the groups get the same treatment or do you feel it’s okay for parents to treat their group with extra?

“I'm just going to put it out there. Once you have been travelling around America for a substantial amount of time, when you come home, it is a very strange and slightly, truthfully, depressing feeling, okay?
Traveling around America really opened up my eyes, really allowed me to see how I could be living, and just how many opportunities there are, and how many different amazing places there are, all in one country.
Like, since I've been back home in the UK, I haven't felt like myself, which sounds so crazy.
I now live for that adventure, that crazy lifestyle, that meeting new people, seeing new people every day, and I just long for it. And in America, it is so amazing.
Seriously, Americans, what have you done to me? I need to come back in October, at the end of October, back to America.
I can't wait. It's really kerfuffled me coming home from America. It has kerfuffled me.”

POV: You swore you’d never pull the exact moves your parents did… then you’re stuck doing 22 hours straight from NY to Florida with 3 kids who yapped the ENTIRE damn time without hitting pause once 💀
Dad did it with a paper map and a compass… we’ve got GPS, tablets, all these disposable electronics — the works — and we still can’t tell where the hell we are half the time 😭
No wonder Dad always looked so dead inside when we finally arrived.
Who can’t relate?! I’m officially my father now. Road trip survivors — drop a 🫠 if this hits too close to home. Tag your co-pilot who’s one “are we there yet” away from tapping out 😂

@zerohedge > finding published in the New Statesman last month
The New Statesman was founded in 1913 by Sidney and Beatrice Webb with the support of George Bernard Shaw and other members of the Fabian Society. Not exactly a neutral source.

tldw:
- Naomi Brockwell highlights Senator Ron Wyden’s recent pointed public questions and letter to DNI Tulsi Gabbard about commercial VPN use, suggesting it signals hidden government surveillance risks that can’t be openly discussed.
- Under FISA Section 702 rules, VPNs mask user locations, potentially causing US intelligence agencies to classify American traffic as “foreign” by default, exposing users to warrantless surveillance without Fourth Amendment protections.
what did grok miss?

When @RonWyden asks a pointed question in public, it's usually because of something he can't say out loud.
He's doing it again. This time about your VPN.
Is the government running a dragnet on VPN users?

👀Alberta Calls Vote on Oil-Rich Region’s Future in Canada
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith said she’ll call a referendum on whether the energy-rich province should stay in Canada or start a legal process that could eventually lead to its independence.
The vote will be held Oct. 19 and is a response to a bid by separatist activists to break away from Canada.
Smith’s government will call a new vote with the question: “Should Alberta remain a province of Canada or should the Government of Alberta commence the legal process required under the Canadian Constitution to hold a binding provincial referendum on whether or not Alberta should separate from Canada?”
