Maybe this wasn't how your girlfriend imagined how she would be proposed to. It's so cliché and over played. It's not original, it's not personal, it's not very thoughtful. My husband planned a picnic on a seaside cliff, and after we took a walk down two flights of stairs to walk along the beach. When we got to the shore, there was a dozen long stem roses stuck in the sand in front of lit up letters that spelled "M A R R Y M E" with a blanket and parasol and champagne on ice waiting for us. He got down on one knee and proposed to me on a fairly empty beach. So there wasn't a huge crowd or pressure or anything. It was all well planned out secretly, I had no idea what was going on, and a total surprise. This is what women want. Not a cheap gag at a baseball game in front of thousands of people. They're not dressed for the occasion, the engagement pictures aren't going to be anything special. This idea sucks and you men need to stop thinking it's so great.

An armed society is a polite society. Huh. Where is the funding for this coming from? Over fifty of our towns are voting on over rides to fund their schools, police and fire departments due to drops in funding from the state. Now we’re going to add 67,000 jobs and institute new cash grabbing polices (tax on yearly mileage over a predetermined amount) that will in no way match new expenditures? People will not approve overriding prop 2.5 and allowing the state to increase their property taxes (which will dramatically increase our already insane rent costs) to an undetermined amount as Mass reckless spending continue. It’s annoying seeing schools already planning to fire teachers and remove after school programs while green new deals like this are promised. Can we please pay for the obligations we already have before adding a crushing amount of new debt?
