We’re happy to share that QLOC supported the project with localization into Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese, German and Latin American Spanish. TetherGeist is a precision platformer about Mae and her axolotl spirit, Bao, on a coming-of-age pilgrimage. Players use Astral Projection, a tether linking Mae to her spirit, to navigate challenging levels, discover secrets and master different spirit abilities. A town full of secrets, a kitchen full of possibilities 🍲✨ Big congratulations to @StudioPixanoh and @BalorGamesGG on the release of Town of Zoz! QLOC supported the project with localization in Simplified Chinese, Spanish - Latin America, German and 3 more languages, as well as linguistic and certification testing. In Town of Zoz, players step into the role of Ito, a young shaman chef who returns home to help his family’s farm and restaurant. Between hunting critters, gathering ingredients, cooking for the townspeople and uncovering ancient secrets hidden in the village, the game blends action RPG gameplay with cooking and relationship-building. Aphelion is a cinematic third-person action-adventure set on Persephone, a frozen planet at the edge of the solar system. Do you risk delving deeper into the mine? 🚀⛏️ Kudos to Bippinbits and @RawFury on the released multiplayer update for Dome Keeper! We’re glad to have supported the project with functional testing, contribute to this new co-op experience. Dome Keeper combines roguelike action, mining, and base defense, challenging players to gather resources and upgrade their dome between waves of alien attacks. The new multiplayer update adds a cooperative layer to that loop, giving players a new way to balance exploration, strategy, and survival together. Here is a look at QLOC’s contribution to Battlefield 6 in the area of Architecture and Props. This is a selection of works our art team has created. More artworks are available on ArtStation and on the respective artists’ personal pages. ✅ artstation.com/qloc Our responsibilities included the full scoping, planning, creation and in-engine implementation of architectural assets, props and characters including materials. All props and architectural assets feature full dynamic destruction. The 3D team was working on the multiplayer maps Mirak Valley and Liberation Peak, however our assets have been used throughout the game. 🌍 What makes a language "impossible" to localize? Today is International Mother Language Day, and it’s the perfect time to dive into a debate our Localization Team hears constantly: Which language is truly the hardest to get right? The truth? "Hard" isn't just about vocabulary - it's about the technical collision of grammar, culture and code. Here are three of the biggest challenges we face: ✅ Polish: A grammatical puzzle. With complex cases, gendered forms and intricate plural rules, a single UI string often requires multiple variations. If the engine's variables aren't flexible, even a masterclass translation will look "broken" in-game. ✅ Japanese: Context is everything. Formality levels and social intent can shift the entire meaning of a line. Beyond the prose, fitting high-density characters into Western-centric UI spaces is a constant balancing act. ✅ Arabic: The challenge is structural. Right-to-left (RTL) layouts and text mirroring often break UIs in ways that are invisible in a spreadsheet. It’s the ultimate reminder that localization happens in the build, not just in the files. At QLOC, these "impossible" hurdles are just part of the daily routine. With hundreds of titles localized across these (and many other) tricky languages, we’ve seen it all. Our experience has taught us that no matter how complex the grammar or how stubborn the UI, there’s always a way to make it feel native. The big question: Which language would you add to this list?
