@rtenews The new bridge is a perfectly normal thing that will improve the lives of the people living locally. It’s a pity that whenever a new bridge is discussed for congested Galway City that people try to paint it as controversial and that it will make or break global climate change.

@kryan4 @rtenews Yes but a snail can stop it in Galway but such human friendly features as the Shannon bridge has cannot even be considered. A dedicated cycle lane for example “had not an established desire line” established at the time of the traffic survey?

@rtenews Whereas the proposed new ring road bridge in Galway was designed as a motorway bridge with none of those community friendly features. I was advised during consultation it was “outside our brief “ to even consider such things on an NRA project.

Reassurance from @DavidMcredmond on the radio today regarding the efforts of @Postvox to overcome the Hollyhead Port closure..possibly making him and the An Post team the #RealSanta this year, in Ireland at least.

@declanganley @AontuIE What is a political party if not a coalition of independents who have sought sufficient common ground to work together and govern? Some great independents out there who do make a difference but candidates on a single issue or who can’t compromise for small progress a wasted vote.

If you’re a voter in the Irish general election & you want any hope of change, vote for an Aontu @AontuIE candidate or an independent that best fits your politics (there are plenty of very good ones to chose from). Frankly, I expect no real change. FG/FF/SF/Labour/Greens/SocDems are different colour versions of the same old Teletubbies. I’m not sure there are even enough of us fellow tax slaves anymore that pay for everything & get nothing from the public purse. The criminal racket of the social housing, homeless and fraudulent asylum trafficking, the insane wokery, the unceasing drive to curb free speech, the tax sponging NGO p:;$ takers, the mission to indoctrinate young school children with disturbing ideologies, all will continue unabated unless voters break their traditional patterns. Our taxes are being pillaged to line fat special interest pockets that contribute nothing to Irish society. At minimum I hope we can get a more robust opposition. Ireland needs a massive course correction, for our families, for our homes, for our farms, for our businesses and for our country.

Demolition of the Dorset Street Flats is now well advanced by Duggan contractors on behalf of Dublin City Council. The 1960s complex will be replaced over the next two years with 163 new homes designed by Scott Tallon Walker Architects and Levitt Bernstein Associates 🧵
