@Figure_robot The future is about how we will occupy the masses? We have to provide spaces for leasure and to persue interests, for the endeavour self improvement. Every human needs a good size space to live in. Access to nature, to clean water and healthy foods. As all done by Ai robots.

@konstructivizm The heat shield tiles alone were rediculously expensive to renew and maintain. Newer and better tiles and better ways of re-entry are being developed. Maybe one day we can avoid the velocity needed for re-entry.

Final Farewell: Space Shuttle Atlantis Departs the ISSIn the quiet early hours of July 19, 2011, the Space Shuttle Atlantis gracefully drifted away from the International Space Station, marking the end of an era. Captured from the ISS by astronaut Michael Fossum, this poignant image shows Atlantis with the Raffaello Multi-Purpose Logistics Module still nestled in its payload bay. Raffaello had just delivered tons of critical supplies and equipment to the station and was now returning to Earth loaded with experiment results and unneeded hardware. This moment was historic. STS-135 was the very last mission of NASA’s 30-year Space Shuttle program, which began with Columbia’s maiden flight in 1981 and forever changed the way humans worked in space. After 135 flights, Atlantis’ final departure from the ISS closed a remarkable chapter in human spaceflight. The mission successfully stocked the station with essential supplies and spare parts, ensuring the ISS could continue operating smoothly long after the shuttles were retired. As Atlantis pulled away, it symbolized NASA’s bold transition: stepping back from low-Earth orbit to make way for commercial crew vehicles while setting its sights on future deep-space exploration. @archeohistories Roll on fusion power for all then these games, fuel battles and price hikes can stop holding all to ransom. Which countries set up this dependencies on Islamic or Russian dictatorships for our fuel are fools. The UK has made all vulnerable.

In 1973, Saudi Arabian King Faisal cut off all oil supplies to the US and other countries for supporting Israel. America then threatened to bomb their oil fields. In response, King Faisal said, “You are the ones who can’t live without oil. Our ancestors lived on dates, and we can easily go back to living like that again.” 🇺🇸🇸🇦 The image captures a moment from the 1973 oil crisis, a pivotal episode in modern history. That year, following U.S. support for Israel during the Yom Kippur War, Saudi Arabia led an oil embargo through OPEC, cutting off supplies to the U.S. and other Western nations. The result was immediate and severe—gas stations across America ran dry, prices soared, and drivers waited for hours in long lines, often only to be turned away. The U.S. even considered military intervention to secure oil fields. When American officials reportedly threatened military action, King Faisal of Saudi Arabia delivered a now-famous rebuke: “You are the ones who can’t live without oil. Our ancestors lived on dates, and we can easily go back to living like that again.” His words highlighted the cultural and economic divide between the oil-rich Gulf and the energy-dependent West. The crisis reshaped global energy politics and led to lasting changes in how nations approached energy independence. © Vintage American Photos #archaeohistories

@RicHuntter @histories_arch @grok Google the answer, it has a very interesting evolutionary history. Lighter skin developed for various reasons e.g. Diet changes. The need to process vitamin D. The changes in location to paler skin tone genes.

An incredible glimpse into the past has been brought to life... The face of an 18-year-old girl who lived 9,000 years ago in the ancient region of Thessaly has been reconstructed, offering a fascinating view of how facial features have evolved over time. Her face, which witnessed a pivotal era in human evolution, was revealed thanks to a complex forensic archaeology project. The remains were discovered in 1993 in the Cave of Theopetra, and now, after thousands of years, we can finally see what she looked like. It's amazing to think about the stories her face could tell from the dawn of modern human civilization. #archaeohistories

Face Reconstruction of Queen Tiye (1398-1338 BC), based on her Mummy, found at the Tomb of Amenhotep II (KV35) in 1898. Now preserved at GEM, Cairo... Tiye (Tye) was the Great Royal Wife of the Egyptian Pharaoh  Amenhotep III (r. 1391-1353 BC), mother of Pharaoh Akhenaten (r. 1353-1336 BC) and grandmother of Tutankhamun (1341-1323 BC) ; her parents were Yuya and Thuya. Mainstream scholars reject the notion that Egypt was a white or black civilization; they maintain that, despite the phenotypic diversity of Ancient and present-day Egyptians, applying modern notions of black or white races to ancient Egypt is anachronistic. In addition, scholars reject the notion, implicit in the notion of a black or white Egypt hypothesis, that Ancient Egypt was racially homogeneous; instead, skin color varied between the peoples of Lower Egypt, Upper Egypt, and Nubia, who in various eras rose to power in Ancient Egypt. Moreover, "Most scholars believe that Egyptians in antiquity looked pretty much as they look today, with a gradation of darker shades toward the Sudan". Within Egyptian history, despite multiple foreign invasions, the demographics were not shifted by large migrations. © Moe_APHG #archaeohistories

More than 5,000 years ago—long before the first pharaoh ever wore a crown—a man was laid to rest in the warm sands of southern Egypt. He wasn’t embalmed or wrapped in linen like the mummies we usually imagine. Instead, the desert itself preserved him, drying his body in a shallow grave near Gebelein, just south of ancient Thebes. When archaeologists uncovered him in 1900, they were struck by his remarkable condition—curled in a fetal position, skin intact, and hair still wavy and reddish-blond. He came to be known, affectionately, as “Ginger.” Ginger likely belonged to the Naqada culture, a prehistoric group that lived along the Nile well before Egypt’s unification under one ruler. His features—light-toned skin and fair hair—were not unusual for people of that time and region. These early Egyptians had diverse appearances, and Ginger gives us a rare, tangible glimpse into what they may have looked like. Unlike later mummies, who were carefully treated and wrapped in layers of cloth, Ginger’s preservation was accidental but incredibly effective, thanks to the natural heat and dryness of the desert. Today, Ginger lies behind glass at the British Museum in London, quietly offering a connection to a world that existed thousands of years before the pyramids rose from the sand. He reminds us that even the earliest humans of the Nile Valley had rituals, beliefs, and a deep respect for death. And in his stillness, he continues to teach—about life, time, and the enduring touch of nature’s own hand. #archaeohistories

@Debnamwd @archeohistories Nonsense. Yes, both blonde and red hair existed 5,000 years ago. The genetic mutations responsible for these hair colors appeared much earlier in human history. Blonde Hair The gene responsible for natural blonde hair is estimated to have appeared around 11,000 years ago.

This man was a teacher for 40 years. At year 2 or 3, on Picture Day, he realized he'd worn the same outfit as the previous year, so he got the idea to continue to do so for his whole teaching career (1973-2012).

Promoting the lie, the delusion gender dysphoria, the nonsense that transwoman are women. Who is still pushing this ideology. Truth will win the day.
