🚨Tunnels Found Under Sacsayhuaman🚨 An archeological team in Cusco has announced a discovery of trapezoidal tunnels under the famed site at Sacsayhuaman. The project titled "Proyecto de Investigación Arqueológica Chincana" Made this announcement in a press conference a few days ago. The tunnels were located using ground penetrating radar following a centuries old tip from 17th century Jesuit chronicler Anello de Oliva. The underground passages connect several significant sites, including the Temple of the Sun and the fortress of Sacsayhuamán. Unfortunately, it's one of the worst archeological discovery releases in recent memory, most of the findings were disclosed on Instagram and YouTube, with little to know access to source data. (yes, this is an actual release from the team) There are some GPR images as well but without an actual paper associated with them there's not much to make out of them. This is definitely something that's going to need further investigation!
