As we look to the future, we have much to be excited about. We recently welcomed four new youth-led organisations onto the Youth Ventures Programme and we can’t wait to see the impact they make in the communities they’re working in. 🩸 Sharmin Kabir started @WreetuBD with the vision of building a period-friendly world. The organisation provides access to menstrual health education and affordable period products for girls and women in Bangladesh. 📚 @Growyourreader is improving access to quality education for children in Bangladesh. They have set up 28 library stations and have 8,500 readers, with a total of 10,000 books across the country. 🌳 Working in Malaysia, Native Discovery is enhancing the livelihoods of indigenous Orang Asli communities. They work to build channels for the Orang Asli to meaningfully participate in the economy and shape the narrative of their own people. 🧑‍🎨 Small artisans in Pakistan face challenges that hinder their growth and sustainability, and @vceeladotcom is working to change this. They empower artisans by connecting them to local and international markets. It is such a huge honour to work with young leaders and organisations such as these. As His Majesty the King said in his Commonwealth Day speech, the commonwealth’s “near-boundless potential as a force for good in the world demands our highest ambition” – and this is what we intend to keep giving. Through launching the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II facilitated our support of the organisations we feature here, as well as many more... 🎨 @discnewart provides equal access to arts education for young people in Pakistan. Founder @Mujtabazaidi7 is pictured here meeting the late Queen. 🏫 With our support, @igeaenterprise has been able to distribute over 3,500 reusable period pads, reducing monthly school absenteeism from 5 to 2 days for over 1,160 girls in rural Ghana. 📱 @AlikeUK connects young people affected by cancer and helps them to combat loneliness. Founder @BradGudger was fortunate enough to meet Queen Elizabeth II in person, and she thanked him for the great work he is doing. 💻 @animateguyana provides young people across Guyana with digital and creative training, opportunities and resources to help prepare them for jobs in the digital and creative sector. With our support, they have now launched a digital agency, hosted digital training programmes and provided practical work experience.
