Two different AI adoption models across the US and China: In China, esp w the OpenClaw craze, AI is being adopted as an everyday consumer utility by children and the elderly. In the US, most people are adopting AI through their jobs so AI is mostly viewed as a workplace tool. It feels obvious which model transforms society faster.

@quichenpatel @eladgil The chart needs 3 axes: intelligence, speed and cost. Cheaper GPT-3.5 --> contextual ad targeting Faster GPT-4 --> real-time voice. Smarter GPT-5 --> we're almost at generative UIs. I think that breakpoint in model quality is close.

I'm curious what people would fill in here for GPT5 now that we've had 6+ months of it. To me, it really feels like more / better versions of what was working for GPT4, but not necessarily net new categories like previous upgrades.

I'm always impressed by how much progress the team at @sequen_ai make in such short time. It comes equally from their rare talent and sheer determination to will things into existence. If you want to experience this firsthand (and you should), go work with their team. Excited and grateful to double-down and to welcome our friends at @WhiteStarCap and @thresholdvc!

Seeing a lot of agentic simulation companies. They kind of feel like the AI version of a dashboard company: easy to demo “insights”, harder to prove how they improve outcomes.

@ivanburazin My comment is less around the user/developer side and around on the model co side. Like it’s amazing that they’ve seeded the idea that using more of the thing that makes them money is aligned with us being good at our jobs.

Axiom

Axiom launched six months ago with one conviction: mathematics is the right foundation for building systems that reason. Today we announce Axiom's Series A. We raised $200M at a $1.6B+ valuation, led by @MenloVentures, to extend our lead in formal mathematics into Verified AI.

Great essay. Liability absorption is a fundamental part of business services and actually software itself. Both the “SaaS is dead” and the “services are the new software” narratives both undervalue liability as a reason for buying both. It can be hard to see that when we live in AI capability land and feature sets and remove ourselves from what the customer actually values.

"Canal+ will roll out an updated system that goes beyond ‌traditional keyword searches starting June 2026...the models provided by @Google help identify all elements and describe scenes in a movie or a show, which can then be used with @OpenAI to enhance both search and recommendation engines." Weird to not use the search and recommendation company to do the latter...

@quichenpatel @fleetingbits going by statements a few months back, the dominant behaviour is generating and downloading, not posting, sora seeding the group chats and other networks dead forest with activity below ground?

So I guess the answer was nobody was really using @OpenAI’s Sora…

What ever happened to @OpenAI’s Sora app? Lots of anticipation and hype when it came out in September, but nearly 6 months in and it’s still the same Ring Cam videos and feels empty. Apparently still at 8M WAU though - anyone still use it?

@morqon @OpenAI @omooretweets I don’t think that’s consumer in the same way I don’t think Canva is consumer. Consumer-friendly for sure, but not where attention pools which is what I’d argue they were hoping for when they launched a Tiktok-esque interface

right, it isn’t, though still open on whether sora was meant to be the social app, some suggestion that is still to come thought of as a video gen app, olivia notes that it probably has the most DAUs of any on mobile, but yes, is that consumer?

@morqon @OpenAI @omooretweets this isn’t exactly the growth curve of a viral social media app. and if the users take the outputs to other platforms, that probably also means it’s not really a consumer app.

Sentiment on @OpenAI capability is at an all time low based on @Kalshi… lower than @xai which is kind of crazy to me. I get the bull case for @GoogleDeepMind (great data + TPU availability), but I don’t understand why @claudeai is 3x more likely than Chat to have the top spot, don’t they have the same inherent challenges scaling intelligence?
