First impressions of Totenreich: this map looks like it could be straight out of BO1/BO3. Nazi Zombies giving OG/WWII Zombies vibes. Map looks grungy and gritty which feels like an old school aesthetic. Lighthouse & Origins Robot, need I say more? Finally, the logo is hinting at Norse mythology which could be hella promising. Solid first impressions.

The Shadowsmith known as Odin, being a Dark Aether God would understand the path that Requiem would go down upon acquiring his Artifact Gifting them the Ice Staff to help them The Dark Aether Nexus is essentially the Bifrost, connecting Asgard to the 9 Realms

@Vermontious @TheCh0pper And people also had more wonder back then. Nowadays people go “this doesn’t make sense”, but back in the day people would make theories about the stuff that didn’t make sense and devs would take it and run with it. Or leave it unexplained for half a decade

@TheCh0pper Theres a huge amount of small details in the new story that it just feels nobody is picking up on The old maps felt mysterious because the devs were throwing 1000 ideas at a wall hoping a couple stuck

Random thought; but wanted to Tweet while it was on my mind, I think the BIG difference of why the newer Zombies storyline isn’t clicking for people as much (Cold War-BO7) compared to the old zombies storyline, (WaW-BO4) is that there is a severe lack of INTENT with the new games & it’s choices Think about how deliberate small details & choices were back then, “why are the zombies eyes this color?That must mean something” & most of the time, it did, all these small details had reasons for belonging in the gameplay or story Nowadays it seems like there’s hardly ANY intent at all, why on earth is the Blundergat on Paradox Junction?? Why was the Sentinel Artifact dug up in BO6? “Cause it would be cool lol” feels like it’s the answer to the matter of intent guiding the vast majority of choices made in the zombies ecosystem now
