Price leads narrative. What IS matters, Not what should be. It’s all so tiresome

Asymmetric cost advantage makes that a losing proposition Imo they would have to escalate to a war, and occupy completely if the objective is to continue westward logistics Else the more logical and cost effective solution is to turn east China benefits from Ukrainian actions rn No surprise considering where components are from

What surplus country is still willing to buy treasuries ? Anyone ? Somewhere ?
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent@SecScottBessent

.@USTreasury is committed to disrupting and degrading Iran’s illicit financial activities, including its abuse of digital assets.  Today, Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control sanctioned multiple wallets tied to the Central Bank of Iran, resulting in the freeze of over $130 million. We will continue to aggressively follow the money and deny the Iranian regime access to the proceeds of its illicit revenue schemes.

@Carl_Fr_Gauss3 @cirnosad How weak is trump’s hand if he’s actually giving functional F35s to Erdogan considering the fresh ones are delivered sans radar

Question: How do you explain the recent meeting between Trump and Erdogan in Turkey where Donald Trump praised him and treated him as a friend. We also saw that Turkey now got four F-35s jets from America. "Israelis" are panicked about Trump giving Turkey the F-35s. The head of Aman said: "We mus do everything possible to prevent Trump from giving Turkey the F-35s as it will take away our air superiority advantage that we aIlways used to have." We also know "Israelis", across all political parties (just like in the case of Iran), have started to speak about Turkey as a new Iran. I don't know, something is going on. On one hand, you see “Israelis” literally start speaking about Turkey as a new Iran, and they are outraged about the friendship between Trump and Erdogan. But on the other hand, we know to who Trump really belongs and who he serves - Jewry - but now it seems like he works with Erdogan, whom the Jew opposes. I don't get it. Can you please elaborate and explain P.S. I am happy that you are back. Welcome back, you were missed (this is my new account, I got suspended).

@Realworld1310 @HormuzReport Sailors coming back in boxes means public gets behind this war If the effects are mostly confined to unaffordable gas and electricity/heating bills, then the rage is directed at the executive

BREAKING: Iran threatens to target the UAE's Fujairah pipeline and Saudi Arabia's East-West pipeline if the U.S. blockade continues, warning that "not a single drop of oil or gas will be exported from the region" and declaring, "either everyone exports, or no one does." According to Tasnim, Tehran said any continued U.S. blockade on Iranian energy exports would be met by strikes on alternative regional export routes, specifically naming the UAE's Fujairah pipeline and Saudi Arabia's East-West pipeline.

@kakashiii111 Problem they have now is that it’s a matter of national security for China to have a fully indigenous supply chain That just means this is the last dance, and in that context it’s no surprise incumbents are trying to milk it for all it’s worth

The answer lies in the fact that it's an extremely capital-intensive and highly cyclical business. While there are periods of exceptional profitability, they're often followed by years of losses. Hynix nearly collapsed after the dot-com bust, Micron has gone through multiple cycles of operating at a loss, and even Samsung's memory division has experienced years of very weak profitability. It's hard to justify spending tens of billions of dollars to enter a market where returns can evaporate overnight. That combination of massive capital requirements, cyclical pricing, and entrenched incumbents is probably what limits new players more than the technology itself.

Wouldn’t say that America doesn’t have much skin in the game Iraqi oil settlement is routed through FRBNY in it’s entirety and is basically a huge slush fund Apart from SA, Ir, Oman and now UAE(lol) practically everyone else in the gulf is a client state Any more of oil flows settling outside of the dollar makes this existential just not as urgent as what Iran faces

@gonglei89 I think people forgot that for Iran this war is existential, for the USA it’s a Tuesday news cycle. Countries that fight existential wars never forget them eg China Finland

Not talked about enough is damn right Everyone has forgotten the one day whoosh and instant TACO That was the dress rehearsal
Teortaxes▶️ (DeepSeek 推特🐋铁粉 2023 – ∞)@teortaxesTex

I'm really unnerved by the MATCH Act stuff. In 3-5 days, Huawei will show the product of 6 years of chasing the frontier under sanctions and export controls, will say "we've finally made it back, without EUV and TSMC". Xi will officiate this. And almost at the same time, Americans will likely pull the plug on DUV servicing and the entire rest of their technological dependencies, forcing third parties to comply; might try to frame it as part of the Pax Silica solidarity. (There's also the harebrained idea that European woes with Chinese trade imbalance will be used as a pretext for this united front, though how "sell even less to Chyna" is a good countermeasure is beyond me). We know how the Chinese take such humiliations from last October, although Americans have perhaps forgotten and/or believe that something has materially changed in the 9 months that followed. It's not like the Chinese can afford to let it slide, either – they're nowhere close to self-sufficiency. The MOFCOM package was not even maximalist, and it was merely a warning + sounding of the dependency graph. Actual retaliatory enforcement of Chinese export controls would *cripple* European industry and much of American one. If all goes well, Americans will rediscover object permanence and walk it back once again, though more likely Trump will try to compensate with a direct Blackwell offer (won't work, they value domestic capability more than compute). If it doesn't, I'm afraid we'll see a series of really nasty market events. No idea what the floor for this situation is. It's not talked about enough.

sure but the main difference is will to fight and defend oneself. I dont think the chinese have it. they avoid war not simply becuase this is good for business but also they dont want to die. I wonder if the us puts them to the test what will happen. not wanting to fight is as fatal as losing the war itself because it means in the battlefield you chicken out and chose easy routes like what happened with iran.

🔥🔥🔥 CXMT’s STAR Market IPO: There will be no daily price limit for the first five trading days after listing. The usual ±20% limit will apply starting from the sixth trading day. Oh shit, it’s time to witness the full madness of Chinese retail investors.
Zephyr@zephyr_z9

Who the hell priced the CXMT IPO??? They are IPOing at just $80B market cap (revenue will be in the $50B-$60B range this year at 75% GM, next year over $120B) Is there a way to get in??
