This is what the UAE always does. They excel at capitalizing on broken order. A few days ago, UAE privately told US it would start pricing its oil and gas in yuan if the US didn't give it a dollar swap line. Then Bessent stands in front of the Senate and endorses the swap. His stated reason was to prevent, in his words, "the disorderly sale of US assets." That's an admission that a Gulf state holds enough American assets to destabilize US markets, and the US is willing to lend it dollars to stop it from doing so. But the swap line is not the story. A fed swap line is usually reserved for a small club of major allies. The ECB, Bank of Japan, Bank of England, Swiss, Canada. The UAE has never been in that club. Extending one is a categorical shift that sits outside routine liquidity. These unscripted threats are UAE's signature move. It has run the same play for fifteen years. The country does not pick sides. It sells its position to whoever can pay for it, and it repositions the moment the incumbent order cracks. In 2017 it funded Le Pen in France, betting on EU fragmentation through a Russian-linked channel. In Sudan it works both sides. Six billion in port development with the pre-war government. Quiet relationship with the RSF as the hedge on collapse. Largest single humanitarian donor. In 2020 it signed the Abraham Accords, getting ahead of the regional realignment. In 2022 it normalized with Iran before Saudi did, positioning early for the reconstruction economy. In 2023 it walked out of the US Maritime Security Alliance in the Gulf. The US could not impose a cost. And this week, it extracted a fed swap line by threatening to break the dollar's oil monopoly. None of these are contradictions. They are a single foreign policy executed across different theatres. Find where the order is destabilizing. Place the small bet on the successor structure. Absorb the cost when the bet loses. Collect the asymmetric payoff when it wins. Never formally defect from the incumbent. The dollar has not lost its position. But its position has changed in character. It used to be a monopoly enforced by the absence of alternatives. It is now a bid that has to be maintained through concession.

İstiklal Harbi ve "Kader Birliği" Bir topluluğu "akraba" yapan en güçlü unsurlardan biri ortak hafızadır. Hilafet Hareketi: Türk Kurtuluş Savaşı sırasında Alt Kıta Müslümanlarının (bugünkü Pakistan halkı) sergilediği fedakarlık, iki toplumu "zor gün akrabası" haline getirmiştir. Bu destek, diplomatik bir iş birliğinden ziyade, bir aile ferdinin diğerine yardımı gibi sosyolojik bir derinliğe sahiptir. Kendi Kendini Tanımlama: Pakistan halkı arasında Türkiye'ye karşı duyulan "kardeşlik" hissi, herhangi bir çıkar ilişkisinin ötesinde, kolektif kimliğin bir parçası haline gelmiştir. 5. Jeopolitik ve Stratejik "Gönül Coğrafyası" Türkiye’nin "Gönül Coğrafyası" vizyonu, akrabalığı sadece Orta Asya ve Balkanlar ile sınırlı tutmaz.
