@PakiSwift No, because Islam has a concept called accountability of actions (if not in this world, then in the afterlife). So it doesn't give a free liscense to do anything and has a strict set of boundaries. No scuba defined boundaries or limits to nationalism though

@Hassan510321 but even Islam has been used as a license to kill by many states and non state actors ? does that mean it is Islam as a Religion which is the problem ?

@PakiSwift among people living in the same land. It has been used as a license to kill the "undesired" people by the states throughout modern history, the best examples of which are 1st & 2nd world wars.

Sure please go into the history of the term and find the origins of nationalism, I can recommend books if you like. Secondly every metanarrative or ideology in some way has its extremist offshoots, including Religion like our own which has many extremist followers. so again, don't cherrypick.

@PakiSwift I usually prefer going into the history of a term to get its definition. Theoretically, u can describe it the way you like but having just a glance at the history suggests that practically, this term has brought up extremist ideologies, fueled bigotry & ethnic tensions even...

@Hassan510321 What I support is civic nationalism, which is very specific and well defined, look it up. And no what you're saying is a very biased definition of the term nationalism lol, what ur saying is chauvinism.

@PakiSwift Nobody can tbh. It's vaguely defined and different people have different levels of interpretations for it. However, when nationalism in recent past mostly means worshipping ur country to an extent that u give up all ur sanity and rally behind every shit ur "state" pulls off...

@Ahsan618 No institution/establishment can define who a nationalist or patriot is , so you dont have to agree with them.

7000 BC Mehrgarh city in Pakistan peaked at around 25000 inhabitants. It was occupied continuously from 7000 BC & was abandoned between 2600 BC-2000 BC when literate urbanised phase of Indus Valley Civilisation of Pakistan emerged at Harappa & Mohenjodaro.

@PakiSwift Nationalism is a failed concept anyways and it will die its own death very soon globally. This shit has brought nothing to the world other than death, despair and misery. Developed Euro countries learnt it the hard way and formed a strong EU alliance, despite a very harsh...

@PakiSwift The POINT is this whole talk of nationalism now is only because of a requirement by usurpers to get consent for a war of aggression and cruelty not for love of the people who are brutalized by the usurpers

Serious concern: This Fahim Marwat has allegedly issued threats against senior journalist @hasankhyber for expressing views on the Taliban and presenting Pakistan’s perspective. On his social media accounts he is openly offering money (200k–500k) to anyone who can cause him harm. This is unacceptable. Targeting journalists for their views is an attack on free expression and basic human safety. It is requested that inspector general of police Islamabad @ICT_Police Ali Nasir Rizvi, Interior Minister @MohsinnaqviC42 and other relevant authorities urgently investigate these threats and take immediate legal action to ensure the safety of the journalist. No one should live under fear for speaking their mind.

@PakiSwift You’re throwing the term around a lot. Nationalism allows the citizens of the state to criticise state policies. It is fascism that discourages it. These 3 and that 1 state institution think nationalism is absolute loyalty to the gov where in fact the state ≠ gov
