🚨🇸🇦 🇺🇸 The U.S. has tentatively agreed to let Saudi Arabia enrich uranium WITHOUT the safeguards designed to stop weapons development. -Per CNN, the Trump administration tentatively agreed to Saudi enrichment without the Additional Protocol, the international inspection regime built to catch covert weapons work -The deal could hand Riyadh a path to the bomb unless those safeguards get added later, and it has NOT yet been sent to Congress -Saudi Arabia has said repeatedly it will seek nuclear weapons if Iran acquires them, while criticizing Israel's undeclared arsenal -The timing is enormous: it lands as satellite imagery shows Tehran possibly rebuilding its program -A civilian nuclear program was the key carrot for bringing Riyadh into the Abraham Accords, and the kingdom now appears set to collect it WITHOUT joining America is fighting a war to strip one Gulf power of enrichment while tentatively handing the capability to its rival, minus the inspections. Every capital watching Hormuz just learned the nonproliferation rules bend for allies, and Iran's hardliners just got their best argument yet for why surrendering the dust means permanent inferiority.
