At this point, I feel like it'd just be easier for players returning to the same school next season to announce so on social media. We'll just assume everyone else is in the transfer portal. 🤷

In the middle of the research process, I felt my students needed a break. So we learned about Dia de Los Muertos, read a Cisneros poem, and students wrote their own poetry following her structure. I am amazed at their creativity and willingness to share who they are.

Schools need to do a much better job exposing/explaining college options/realities to first gen students. I told my students today that they can be successful and happy no matter what college they go to. They get so caught up thinking only the “best” colleges are what matters.
