It sounds like the Georgia Public Service Commissioner (no less) has some serious corrections for the #4Corners claims about his state's power prices, already credulously spread by @Bowenchris, @TristanEdis & others. I'll be tuning in next week. #auspol #NuclearEnergy

Duke Energy footage of Lake Placid Solar Power Plant. When anti-nuclear activists prematurely retire operating #nuclear power plants, this is what they are accomplishing: destroying clean-energy infrastructure. Pro-nuclear advocates don't to this to solar.

The San Diego Union Tribune asked 14 economists, professors and economic advisors "Was California too quick to abandon nuclear power?" The unanimous answer was YES. sandiegouniontribune.com/2024/10/10/was…

@ChristosA89 Thanks but I retired long ago. What I do now is better than a job, it is explaining what we need. Problem is that many do not want to listen.

@radiationreason Cost/benefit it must even out, fission slightly more efficient. You have the best job in the world as a nuclear physicist. Man has bent nature at his will twice in history. Artificial selection in the Neolithic (level of genes). Nuclear fission (level of subatomic particles).

@radiationreason Enriching common Uranium 238 to 235 via centrifuge must be pretty costly though. Very interesting regarding Thorium.

@ChristosA89 All quite easily obtained except plutonium. Uranium dissolves in water and lots in the sea. Thorium is even more plentiful. Very little needed

@radiationreason I do hope they catch on sooner, Hydrogen isotopes Deuterium and Tritium are far more easily obtained than Plutonium or Uranium 235.

"Why haven't we built more nuclear plants? I've always thought they were the way to go." I had 20-30 conversations last week at a meeting of investors, business owners and executives. None of them had any connection to the nuclear industry. The above question and comment was repeated by almost all of them. @nucleationvc

While reading the DOE's September 2024 update to its Pathways to Commercial Liftoff; Advanced Nuclear I felt the need to stop and share a figure included in the report. It's one of my favorite illustrations for supporting my assertion that nuclear fission produces uniquely valuable electrons and BTUs. Valuable products generally command a premium price in the market. @GovNuclear Its on page 13 of the report.

"The EPA said that for too long Ireland has merely aimed to "get by", aspiring to only minimum environmental standards and that in many instances, those standards are not reached" It is past time the Irish government considers #NuclearEnergy , the EUs largest clean energy source

New photos show China building America's best nuclear reactor design at record speeds to become #1 in nuclear power. Here's Lianjiang nuclear plant 12 months after Unit 1 construction start. Only 24 months after first dig. AP1000s on a 4-year schedule. We should be doing this.

@energybants Or America buying Danish reactors? The assumed primacy of nuclear by US since the 1950s? Let's get beyond that

@energybants No to BASELOAD. Provide for Peakload with nuclear and use offpeak for desalination, hydrogen, heating, indoor agriculture - all the other energy needs. NO to renewables and DISCONTINUE fossil fuels as fast as possible. Rollout nuclear to all nations ensuring adequate education.

Cumulatively, the 14 financial institutions have committed to over $6 trillion in Sustainable Financing by 2030. Say 10% goes to nuclear, as per nuclear's share of the mix in the IEA's NZE scenario. Say Nth-of-a-kind Western construction brings costs down to $6 billion per GW of new capacity. This would equate to the potential to finance the construction of roughly 100 new GW-scale reactors. Well on track to reach the 3x nuclear pledge. Bring it on!

Is hope in Australian nuclear re-opening? Or is it just shutting down permanently? Like the anti-prometheans a million years ago that denied the benefits of fire? Or the saboteurs who said the Industrial Revolution was too expensive and destroyed jobs? There is always one society too blind to engage its own best interest!

The world is going nuclear. Meanwhile, our politicians are kicking the nuclear can down the road, refusing to lift the ban. It’s time to get serious. We need nuclear in our energy mix. ✍️Sign now: nuclearforaustralia.com/petition
