Instead, the genocide destroyed his home, his university, and the life his family built in Beit Hanoun. Now 20 years old, he lives in a tent at a school-turned-shelter with ten family members after being displaced more than 12 times from northern Gaza.
The family has lost everything and relies completely on donations to survive. Among them is Fahed’s 75-year-old grandfather, who battles type 1 diabetes and high blood pressure and needs medication costing around $100 each month. Fahed himself was badly injured by shrapnel while trying to collect food at a humanitarian aid site. With no income, the family faces severe hunger and malnutrition, and they urgently need reliable food, clean water, medical care, and basic necessities to keep going.

Originally from North Gaza, the family of seven lost the apartment they had just bought on installments when it was bombed three times, one strike while they were inside, leaving Shereen injured. Her children, aged 6 to 16, are trying to continue their education despite huge challenges. One 16-year-old daughter needs surgery after being hit by shrapnel, another child suffers from asthma and requires treatment and eye surgeries, and the family struggles with scarce food and limited soup kitchen access. With no income, they are barely managing the $100 monthly land rent and $220 for schooling while facing harsh weather in their fragile shelter.

Diaa Mahmoud (@Diaa_Ayad00), newly verified, is a 29-year-old father and the main provider for a family of 10 living together in a tent in Gaza. Since their home was destroyed, the family has been displaced many times starting October 15, 2023, searching for safety that has been hard to find. Diaa cares for his elderly parents in their 60s, his siblings, and his wife, while facing immense challenges. One brother, Mohammed, 22, was detained by Israeli forces on November 1, 2025, with little news since. Another brother was shot in the face while seeking flour. Diaa himself was shot in the thigh, suffering a fractured femur with a metal plate from pelvis to knee that has now broken, requiring urgent surgery. He also has third-degree burns on his hands from a recent accident. Unable to walk or work, he can no longer support the family, who depend on donations and soup kitchens.
