@Will_DPGC This is exactly why I don’t include you and @rayyamartino in my “Who is the Best DPGC Founder” contests.

I'm seeing a lot of people asking why some projects don't get involved in voting contests. I usually avoid the topic since I know some people put work in to make them happen and have good intentions, but since there are a lot of folks making posts and comments on spaces about projects not participating, I'll share the honest reasons we choose not to in case it's helpful.
Generally speaking I think they're a net negative for projects/brands. Some could say that it's friendly competition, but I'm not really sure it's the kind of competition that helps brands. If you break it down, they're popularity contests where the projects involved are asked to drum up support for themselves. I'm not sure if that's a good thing for projects and communities to spend their time and energy on. You're probably not going to love the dude putting in work to ask everyone to vote for them as prom king.
Also in terms of friendly competition, most folks seem to agree this space can easily get too tribal sometimes so I'm not sure if there's a lot of value in pitting communities against each other to decide which is more popular. I've seen quite a number of these competitions turn sour.
We usually privately let organizers know we'd prefer not to be included to avoid confusion and give projects that are interested in participating the spot instead. We explain why it's not something we'll promote, but some organizers choose to include us anyway and that's fine -- it's their choice. Not sure if they need to criticize projects for not engaging, though.
If people have fun doing these I have no problem with them doing it. It's just not for everyone and I think that's alright too 🤝

The first time this happened people could chalk it up to a "lucky" day.
The second time could still just be a fluke.
This is now maybe the 7th or 8th time that @deadpixels_club has had 24H volume that rivals the biggest, most well established collections in the world, all of which are on $ETH.
This is no longer a coincidence, a "lucky" streak, or chance- the biggest NFT collection on @hedera is clearly doing something right.
Hop in the discord if you want to learn more: Discord.gg/DeadPixels
Also, peep the floor price, a small fraction relative to what it's "peers" on $ETH are trading at...won't always be the case...

NFTs can transcend simply collecting.
There are stories to be formed and shared.
My daughter kept having nightmares of ghosts. She has a vivid imagination and was scared by something she watched while at her nanas house.
I happen to be a fond collector and supporter of @deadpixels_club so I decided to try something…let’s get her a cute, cuddly ghost to see if can quell her fears. I narrowed down a search for her and she picked this one down below.
She fell in love instantly. Her fear of ghosts turned into an admiration of “her ghost.” She asked me to send it to her tablet so she can see it whenever she wants. I decided to get her some merch and it came in last night. Seeing her reaction warmed my heart. She slept in it and asked to wear it to school today. Of course, I obliged.
Point is that some see NFTs, and collectibles in general, as a waste of time and money. “They’re just a picture”, “they have no value”, “they don’t do anything”, so on and so forth. Yes, there are tons of rugs and bad actors out there but such is life.
This particular project has helped my 5 year old daughter get over her fear of something that was tormenting her mind. That’s value that can’t be measured monetarily. It’s tangible! It’s real! Digital art and collectibles are here to stay!

@Will_DPGC And you need to stop saying things I agree with, especially publicly.

This might seem like a wet blanket but is incredibly important for NFT communities if we want to grow as a space:
We need to stop focusing on and talking about floor prices, fomo, supply shock and all that jazz.
Think about all the successful trading card communities. They don't spend their days talking about supply squeezes and fomo. They talk about Chase cards, upcoming drops, current metas etc. of course they keep track of price lists, but it's not a "let's all talk about how we increase these prices" culture.
If we want this space to grow, and not become another bubble, the sole focus needs to be bringing in new collectors that love digital art collections. If they arrive and see a community spending the whole day talking about fomo and supply shock, they're going to think:
1. This is kinda weird.
2. This community is just excited about dumping on my head when I join. Most of them will promptly leave.
NFTs are going to be massive and shock a lot of people with their growth. The communities that win in this next phase will be the ones that grow a culture of building fun around collectibles, not price and fomo.
