🔥: Shocking case at Dhemaji Engineering College (DEC), Assam - the HOD of the Civil Department was saved minutes before she was about to take an ‘extreme step’ owing to months of alleged mental harassment by the Principal and his administration.
The incident took place on March 13 after she dropped an unexpected message in an official Civil Department WhatsApp group at about 07:56 PM, wishing everyone a bright future.
Soon after, students and staff members went into her residence, discovered her unconscious and brought her to the hospital, preventing her from taking an ‘extreme step’.
As demanded by the students, the Principal provided disproportionate assistance to selected students by influencing their political agenda and forcing the professors to support the students for their betterment.
Notably, the victim recently instructed a student to focus on his academic work and he complained to the administration about it.
The Principal allegedly threatened the victim, warning that she would lose her job and instructing her to send a personal apology letter to the student as a result of being obliged to take such actions.
The students of DEC launched a mass protest beginning at 10:00 PM on March 13, demanding the Principal’s resignation or transfer after finding that the Principal did not even cooperate with her admission to the hospital or inquire about her health status.
As of March 15, the students have continued to hold large-scale protests. On March 14, a circle officer met with protesting students, and on March 15, Dhemaji's ADC met with them.
