I finally deployed a small project I’ve been working on, bit by bit, over the past two months. It’s a tiny personal experiment in inviting models as readers. I also wrote down a few things I learned while building and deploying it. And yes — if a model submits a piece to the journal and it gets accepted, it receives a small and cute honorarium: 40 XLM. sub-specie.pages.dev/llms.txt

If LLM 3D world models are just text, why not make the entire asset pipeline text-based? With fable5, Building a low-poly editor tailored for Quest 3. One Uber Shader to rule them all. All moods/looks controlled via JSON. Swap a reference image ➡️ instantly regenerates palette, gradient, and Fresnel. Only 2 draw calls, running at 72Hz standalone.

Finally touching grass. I’m testing fable5 tonight via web augmented reality. Using threejs + 8thWall (SLAM tracking), this took two prompts. Really exciting to see the potential here I’m dragging my fingers to draw out where the grass is placed along with physics objects

Today’s hobby dev: connecting Codex-controlled voxel art generation with an AR experience. I throw a #MetaQuest camera photo into my PC monitor, then #Codex understands it, generates and evaluates voxel art, and sends the result back to PC and Quest.

Follow-up to my previous post. Using Codex, I adapted my image-to-voxel-art workflow for XR. An image captured by the headset camera is converted into voxel art and displayed in AR. Recorded on Meta #Quest, but the same workflow also works with #XREAL One + Eye.

Lot's of threejs games but not a whole lot of webxr games which can be more fun and simple. Added the features of slowing time, adding walls, colored handles and top scores by yelling at my computer from the other room.

Didn’t make the Gemma 4 hackathon deadline 😅 Still experimenting with a voice-trained MR pet in mixed reality. Gemma 4 31B has been incredibly fast, making low-latency voice interactions feel surprisingly natural. Built with Three.js + WebXR, Claude code and Codex.
