@adamboxer1 There are many systemic inequalities. Totally understand the “keep them in until their last exam” mentality and it’s my preference. It’s also not a surprise many then falter in Y12 and can’t manage their “free time” effectively.


This school board just unanimously voted that toilet training other people's children is now a staff responsibility at their public schools. Not kids who need special accommodations. ALL the kids. What is a parent's job now exactly? What can parents reliably be expected to do?

When I say every child should have the opportunity to go as far as their talent takes them, I mean every single child. Children who grew up in poverty, with special educational needs, those who can't get a job. We back them: every young person struggling to find work will get a guaranteed offer of a job, training, or a work placement.



Does anyone remember when Year 11 just… went on study leave? And maybe revised a lot, maybe didn’t? Then came in for their exams and went home again? And took responsibility and accountability for their own efforts and outcomes? What happened??


And the point of strikes is to cause inconvenience at minimum and total shutdown at most. Looks like they got the timing right. Cope harder.
