"Talisman is Western Dokapon" is actually an unbelievably accurate description.

Handoffs are NOT the same as Wobbling. There a degree of skill and knowledge needed to perform them correctly on every character. Just don’t get grabbed lil bro.

@RockLeeSmile It's what I would consider to be the deeper zombie apocalypse game mechanically. But theme-wise it's more of kitchen sink post-apocalypse where it's trying to be an omnicrisis type situation. Another game to try out from ye olden days is Rogue Survivor if you have not tied that

So having played Project Zomboid for the first time today, it seems quite good. Even as a first timer, I only had a few little hang ups here and there. The level of immersion seems excellent and I can totally see why people get obsessed with it. Sorry it took me 12 years to play!

I question if you're good at anything at all actually with a take like this. "Comprehensibility" is a very strange way to value something and somewhat arrogant because the answer to "why" someone did something in a sport is a highly complex and you're not expected to know that.
TierZoo@TierZoo

Not necessarily. Even from a casual player POV, if I watch high level game play, I should be thinking "wow! They're so good at this game! I want to practice so I can be that good!" rather than thinking "wtf is going on, why did that work, is that a glitch? is this the same game?". The former makes me want to play more, the latter makes me question if playing more will even matter.

Casuals and competitive players are not obligated to like things. But posts like this come across as really dumb. You don't have to participate in high level gameplay or any kind of gameplay you don't like, but to say they're wrong to promote their style is silly.

There is this artistic concept I'm not sure has been expounded on in art-philosophy literature but I'm going to call it "appreciableness" or "appreciability". Demonstrable effort is more 'appreciable' than works without demonstrable effort. Etc.

The main issue I have with anti-dlss 5 sentiment so far is a lack of addressing the "deterministic" aspect of what it is supposedly. If it is so, then artists can build what they want w/ it in mind. Which seems artistic enough to me in terms of artistic integrity & communication.

@LightReachGames Atmosphere 100%. If you can pull me into a plausible world, I can then be scared. Subtlety and suspense are key. Being clever and thought provoking too. Mystery, wonderment and dynamic response to my character all go a long way. Horror isn't always bleak.

I want to hear from you all! Some of you may be shy but that’s okay, I want to hear from you. What makes you want to play a horror game? - Is it the scares? - Is it the character and or enemy models? - Story & Lore - Visuals of the game? What generally gets you to hit the download button + play button for horror games specifically? #gamedev #solodev #gamedeveloper #unrealengine #unrealengine5 #steam #pc #fyp #horrorgames #horror #gaming #survivalhorror #scary #scarygames #pcgaming
