DMK MPs can push for new metros like Airport-Kilambakkam and get the necessary approvals. But once again if the ruling party doesn’t cooperate, all efforts will be wasted.
DMK MPs will have a huge role to play as all the 39 MPs are still in power. Cities like Trichy will heavily rely on MPs like Durai Vaiko.

@TheIndiaTalkies This will surely happen one day. This momentum won't last long. Even if Vijay wishes, other alliance parties will make his party unstable by imposing their own ideologies. Minority govt is very difficult to run for years.

Let’s say TVK goes with NDA alliance. Later on, bjp pushes something like CAA on minorities. There is a significant proportion of people who have voted for TVK and also some got elected like the one in Madurai. These elected representatives will stumble upon in pressure from people when something is forced on them.
I read many minority people from a particular region in Trichy voting for TVK and sure is in almost every family. These people will agitate and switch back to dmk for whom they have been voting to traditionally. One bad by bjp against minorities can sparkle opportunities for dmk for core vote base which may reflect in subsequent local body or Lok Sabha elections too. DMK must keep watching these situations like a hawk.

@BALA2197 @Pravin130620 Everything will depend on how curious the ruling state govt is to bring the projects. MPs alone can’t do the heavy lifting. But atleast airport to kilambakkam will get the approval is what I feel. The DPR has already been submitted to the union govt.

If TVK aligns with NDA and if bjp does its usual dramas against minorities later, then we can see minority people especially some of the key elected members leaving the party.
This happened with admk before. Parties like ADMK, TVK still don’t know to weigh the minorities who can be kingmakers especially when a party is gasping for majority.

Even if TVK aligns with NDA alliance, the mandate set by the voters against bjp can’t be masked.
BJP won only one seat in Ooty out of 28 and that too with very meagre margins. So literally bjp is the worst performer. Even small parties like communist, Muslim league and others have won a couple of seats.
Vijay, EPS, Annamalai, Nainaar, Tamizhisai and others can still feel that the alliance a win but that’s not the mandate set by the people. True democracy misses. A minority is still a minority govt. History will remember the voting pattern.
We Tamizhians didn’t vote for bjp. Vijay in his campaign still spoke that bjp is one of his ideological enemies. But if TVK carries Periyar and RSS in the same boat, then he is not a leader with any clear principles or ideologies.
This is an open letter to TVK members who have voted for TVK trusting in Vijay.

TVK still has to cooperate with all the 39 TN DMK+ MPs in the parliament atleast till next Loksabha elections. TVK can’t be ignoring them. It’s a mandate set.
We were fighting with union govt for our rights before and now if we fight among ourselves then nothing will get done.

That will proceed as expected. Thankfully the dmk made sure the full phase 2 got the central funds and has already kickstarted the project. The project is midway and by 2028 many corridors would be active. But don’t expect any new corridors from TVK. DMK MPs might still push for the airport-kilambakkam and few other routes and get the necessary approvals.

Parandur airport should not be seen as just a standalone airport. It can create huge corridors around it. New highways, new metros etc
But Vijay has been playing the victim card as if supporting the farmers from the very beginning. That’s where his political journey started. I don’t think he is going to revive his stance on Parandur. Other states are getting their second airports built.
