Imagine every pixel on your screen, streamed live directly from a model. No HTML, no layout engine, no code. Just exactly what you want to see. @eddiejiao_obj, @drewocarr and I built a prototype to see how this could actually work, and set out to make it real. We're calling it Flipbook. (1/5)

The clash between Isaac Newton and Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz stands as one of the most significant philosophical debates in the history of science, revolving around a seemingly simple yet profound question: What are space and time? In the early 1700s, this dispute played out in a series of letters known as the Leibniz–Clarke Correspondence, where Leibniz challenged Newton’s views through Newton’s ally, Samuel Clarke. Newton held that space and time were absolute. He saw space as an invisible stage where all events occur, and time as a uniform flow independent of anything in the universe. According to him, even if the universe were empty, space and time would still exist as real entities. Leibniz disagreed. He argued that space and time are not independent things but are defined by the relationships between objects and events. Space is the arrangement of matter, and time is the order of changes. Without objects or events, space and time would be meaningless. The debate also touched on philosophy and theology. Leibniz reasoned that absolute space seemed illogical-why should the universe exist in one position rather than another? Newton, through Clarke, countered that space is real and ultimately exists because of God’s will. This debate still matters today. While Newton’s view dominated classical physics, later theories, particularly relativity, revived the relational perspective of space and time, aligning more closely with Leibniz’s vision.

Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar and his uncle C. V. Raman created a rare Nobel legacy in one family. Raman earned the 1930 Nobel Prize in Physics for discovering the Raman Effect, and decades later, Chandrasekhar won the 1983 Nobel for his groundbreaking work on the structure and evolution of stars.

If a circle is divided into many equal sectors and rearranged alternately, it starts resembling a shape close to a parallelogram (or a triangle-like figure for fewer cuts). The base of this shape becomes half the circumference of the circle, and the height is the radius. Hence, the area becomes base × height, which gives the area of the circle.

Had a telephone conversation with my brother His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan to discuss the evolving situation in the Middle East. I expressed Pakistan’s deep concern over the recent escalation in the region following Israeli attacks on Iran and the subsequent attacks on Jordan and other brotherly countries. We emphasized the urgent need for restraint, dialogue, and de-escalation to preserve peace and stability. Pakistan stands in full solidarity with the brotherly people of Jordan and remains ready to support all efforts aimed at restoring calm in the region.

Tonight, we reached an agreement with the Department of War to deploy our models in their classified network. In all of our interactions, the DoW displayed a deep respect for safety and a desire to partner to achieve the best possible outcome. AI safety and wide distribution of benefits are the core of our mission. Two of our most important safety principles are prohibitions on domestic mass surveillance and human responsibility for the use of force, including for autonomous weapon systems. The DoW agrees with these principles, reflects them in law and policy, and we put them into our agreement. We also will build technical safeguards to ensure our models behave as they should, which the DoW also wanted. We will deploy FDEs to help with our models and to ensure their safety, we will deploy on cloud networks only. We are asking the DoW to offer these same terms to all AI companies, which in our opinion we think everyone should be willing to accept. We have expressed our strong desire to see things de-escalate away from legal and governmental actions and towards reasonable agreements. We remain committed to serve all of humanity as best we can. The world is a complicated, messy, and sometimes dangerous place.
