@ArainGang "Final Mughal governor" is a retrospective historical label. No one at that time could've predicted finality, especially in a Panjāb where Mughal authority was already being contested by the Afghāns and the Marhattās.

@rais512 Is this your only evidence? Not remarkable that a report mentioning Adina would affix Mughal to his title, given that he is the final Mughal governor of Punjab and carries the Baig honorific in his name.

Ādīnah Bēg Khān, the Nawwāb of Panjāb, was a Mughal and not a Panjābī Ārā'īn, according to contemporary documents. In fact, he was first mentioned as an Ārā'īn in Ahwāl-i Dīnā Bēg Khān, a dubious source written nearly 50 years after his death.

@rais512 Wazir Khan in the Panth Prakash is sometimes called Mughal although he wasn’t. His origins are debated between Native Punjabi or Persian.

@rais512 Quite a few things wrong here. 1) Adina Beg never pledged alliegence to the Peshwa and the text doesn’t say that. 2) Ahwal I Dina Beg is a mostly reliable source used by all credible historians with no historians debating his origins. 3) Mughal here doesn’t mean Turani

@chariotcel That's a different campaign. The one I posted about is of 1705/06, after he had been appointed fawjdār of Dahāmūnī.

@rais512 If you read your own snippet, no mention is made of the Khan actually reducing Chhatrasal to submission, merely that he was appointed to do so. As we can see from the historical record, Khairandish Khan had failed to do so and the Bundela remained at large
