My opinion on MLSys research The ML space is moving fast but building systems takes time. A point systems solution for a specific ML optimization (let it be scheduling of speculative decoding or load balancing of inference and retrieval) will become obsolete when it comes out because the system now needs to deal with the new things (let it be scheduling of agents or SLO of reasoning requests).

@GregoryDiamos The bar seems pretty low for recruiting a "world class" engineer. Engineers were once used to people who can think, implement, debug and test. Now anyone who can get SOTA on a new task is considered world class.
