Year-on-year OECD food inflation rose to 4.0% in February, up from 3.7% in January, largely reflecting a 4.7 p.p. increase in Türkiye. Food inflation increased in only eight other OECD countries and decreased in approximately half.

Nearly half of US data centers planned for this year are expected to be delayed or canceled. Not a capital availability or chip problem. It's transformers and electrical equipment. Lead times have gone from 24 months to five years. The big four are spending $650B+ in 2026 alone but can't actually source the gear domestically.
So we must buy from China. Ironic that the country the US has to beat in AI is also the country supplying the parts to build it.

It’s a common misconception that life expectancy has increased only because fewer children die. Historical mortality records show that adults today also live much longer than adults in the past.
It’s true that child mortality rates were much higher in the past, and their decline has greatly improved overall life expectancy. But in recent decades, improvements in survival at older ages have been even more important.
The chart shows the period life expectancy in France for people of different ages. This measures how long someone at each of those ages would live, on average, if they experienced the death rates recorded in that year.
As you can see, life expectancy in France has risen at every age. In 1816, someone who had reached the age of 10 could expect to live to 57. By 2023, this had increased to 84.
For those aged 65, it rose from 76 in 1816 to 87 in 2023.
The data for many other countries shows the same. This remarkable shift is the result of advances in medicine, public health, and living standards.

China’s factories saw a huge run-up in input costs even as their activity expanded for the first time this year, in one of the first tangible signs of spillover from the conflict in the Middle East that’s threatening profits. Le champ de bataille dans l’est de l’Ukraine a franchi un nouveau seuil glaçant.
Les groupes d’assaut russes, qui s’attendent à échanger des tirs avec l’infanterie humaine, rencontrent au contraire des robots de combat implacables à structure d’acier qui ne ressentent ni peur, ni fatigue, ni douleur.
Le programme de guerre robotique de l’Ukraine a explosé, avec pour objectif industriel de produire des dizaines de milliers de véhicules terrestres sans pilote (UGV) d’ici 2026.
Ces machines, comme la « Liute 2.0 » et la puissante « TWW12.7 », sont équipées de mitrailleuses à bande et peuvent tenir des positions défensives pendant plus de 45 jours consécutifs tout en étant opérées depuis des bunkers sécurisés à des kilomètres.
Pour une première mondiale, des unités russes entières auraient capitulé face aux drones et plateformes robotiques, prouvant que les unités mécanisées peuvent désormais réaliser des victoires tactiques sans un seul soldat humain au sol.
L’ère de la domination de l’infanterie humaine est révolue — l’ère « Inhumaine » de la guerre a commencé.

石油火力発電所が我が国の電力供給の約７％を占めるに過ぎない一方で、ＬＮＧ火力は約３割を占めているため、ＬＮＧ調達や価格の動向にも強い関心を持って、対応する必要があります。 ＬＮＧについては、ホルムズ海峡を経由する輸入は、我が国の輸入量全体の６％程度（４００万トン）であり、現在、電力・ガス会社は、この年間輸入量とほぼ同水準の在庫を有しています。代替調達も着実に進んでいます。 このため、現在、電力の安定供給に支障は出ていませんが、さらに万全を期すため、石炭火力の稼働を高め、ＬＮＧの使用を節約していきます。 具体的には、経済産業省の審議会での議論を踏まえて、効率の悪い石炭火力の稼働抑制措置を、２０２６年度は適用しないこととし、年約５０万トンのＬＮＧ消費を節約します。 これに、東京電力柏崎刈羽原子力発電所６号機が定格出力で稼働した場合の節約効果（ＬＮＧ年約１１０万トンに相当）も合わせれば、ホルムズ海峡経由のＬＮＧを約４割節約できることになります。 今後も、電力の安定供給確保に向けて、必要な対応を機動的に講じてまいります。 また、万が一にも、日本においてガソリンなどの石油製品の供給に支障が生じないよう、Ｇ７各国や国際エネルギー機関（ＩＥＡ）とも連携しながら、先日、我が国が率先して、石油備蓄の放出を決定したところですが、昨日（２６日）、『石油備蓄法』に基づく国家備蓄原油の放出を開始いたしました。 今後、国内にある１１の基地から合計約８５０万ＫＬ（約１ヶ月分）を順次放出し、国内のエネルギー安定供給に万全を期してまいります。 事態が長期化した場合にも、息切れすることなく、継続的に国民生活をお支えすることができるよう、今後とも支援の在り方を柔軟に検討してまいります。

In 1973, the oil embargo lasted 5m & caused a decade of stagflation. The world was not globalized & things were sourced locally.
1) Today the ENERGY CONTENT of products around you is much much higher than 1973.
2) The West has too much DEBT so impossible to fight stagflation.

Rheinmetall CEO confirms my reporting. All tungsten stockpiles in Europe, the Mideast, and US are basically empty. Cannibalization of INDOPACOM Arsenal, which began a little bit last week, will begin earnest. will take years, if ever, to recover. Moscow and Beijing know this.
