re:piracy. most people don't appreciate that in Japanese culture, the pathos of impermanence (物の哀れ) and the importance of setting (場所) means that if there hasn't been and will never be a localization, you do without, because it can't be helped (仕方がない)

I almost went to Copenhagen to au pair for this beautiful family (very handsome, successful husband and luminous children) but I turned it down because I know myself well enough to understand I would’ve rotted with envy of the mother the entire time
