Footnote: Tillis’ vote to confirm Hegseth as defense secretary brought the tally to a 50–50 deadlock after R senators Collins, McConnell and Murkowski joined Dems in opposing him. His vote allowed VP Vance to cast the tie-breaking vote, confirming Hegseth.
Senator Thom Tillis@SenThomTillis

The careless decision to reduce our force posture in Europe, along with moves by Pete Hegseth and his political henchmen to force out some of our finest general officers is amateur hour at best and deadly at worst. Hegseth continues to surprise and disrespect our greatest allies and some of our best military professionals with impulsive decisions not grounded in reality or good judgment. If the rumors are true that Hegseth is trying to sideline General Chris Donahue, one of our nation’s finest warfighters, by downgrading U.S. Army Europe-Africa to a 3-star command, he is taking another step down a dangerous path. A step that is not in the best interests of our nation or our servicemembers. General Donahue has dedicated his entire career to upholding the high standards and warrior ethos that Hegseth claims he is restoring to our ranks. Gen. Donahue has led Soldiers at all levels in Airborne (including Ft. Bragg’s 82nd) and Mechanized units, the 75th Ranger Regiment, and our most prestigious special operation units. He deployed over 20 times in support of Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, New Dawn, Inherent Resolve, Atlantic Resolve, Freedom’s Sentinel, European Assure, Deter and Reinforce, and in support of the Sudan crisis. Hegseth would do well to surround himself with more patriots like General Donahue and to get his henchmen, who are not qualified to carry Donahue's bag, out of the Pentagon. Keep your word, Mr. Secretary: choose meritocracy over your mediocre yes-men. notus.org/defense/pentag…

Outright lies. Trump's assets aren't in a blind trust, and he bought and sold individual Nvidia stock in 15 separate transactions totaling millions of dollars. That's what Trump's financial disclosure - which has his signature - says. See for yourself: extapps2.oge.gov/201/Presiden.n…
Eric Trump@EricTrump

.@SenWarren All of our assets are invested in a blind trust by the largest financial institutions in broad market indexes. To suggest that individual stocks are being bought or sold, at the discretion of any member of the Trump family, would be a lie and blatantly false. Using a silly example, if you buy the “Schwab 1000,” you will get some exposure to Nvidia - as well as a 1,000 other U.S. companies large- and mid-cap stocks. It’s completely disingenuous to represent anything to the contrary. Please be better than this…

What can a small handful of Republicans do to force accountability from the Pentagon? Withhold their votes for the massive unprecedented deficit-busting increase in military spending sought by Hegseth. That is the only thing likely to produce results. But they won’t do that.

If Lauren Boebert is truly out to “name and shame” political sex offenders, maybe she should start with her largest political donor of last quarter, Matt Gaetz.

It is shocking that he still has a job. But I get it - it’s Fox where racist shit is not just tolerated but encouraged. Because to a certain segment of the population, this is what they want to hear and this is where they go to hear it.

You can take all the corruption from every single US administration in history, add it all together, and it will not equal the amount of corruption committed by the Trump Regime in less than two years.

Republicans can now tell every voter that the leader of their party is going to make them pay $1.7 billion of their hard-earned money in taxes to Oathkeepers & Proud Boys convicted of crimes on J6 as well as others convicted of beating police. All of us have to pay J6 criminals.

Republicans make us pay more for gas, groceries, and a multitude of other things, make us pay for their wars and bombing campaigns, want us to pay for Trump’s ballroom, and now want us to pay $1.7 billion to “compensate” convicted J6 criminals he pardoned. Vote them all out.
