I play a game with my youngest son and have for years. The whole game is that I am driving and he is the passenger. I randomly backhand him in the chest pretty hard, then I get the urge invoke the “driver safety act of 1994” which prohibits any retaliation in this instance, for obvious safety reasons. Then I terrorize him the rest of the drive by fiddling with radio or the visor or the heat. And also smacking him more.

@michelletandler That would be good for the majority of the population. 🤷 It wouldn't effect me a lot either way, but something would have to be done about existing mortgages if you don't want serious blowback.

A few months ago, I dug into Cea Weaver's Twitter history because she was Mamdani's housing advisor. I had a hunch she might get a position on his team. Well, she did, and she deleted her X account, accordingly. However, I took some screenshots. Let's dig in.

Under ideal conditions in those climates you can maybe support 7 people per acre of crop ground, but you need another 5-10 acres to provide fertility for those crops. And thats before we get to fuel and fiber needs

If we're generous maybe double that via small growing plots on land not considered arable, but still possible to work with hand tools/very small equipment. Still not remotely enough.

I'll start by saying I like Smaje and his vision. But he's not being honest about the UK's ability to feed itself. There are ~70 million people in the UK and only ~15 million acres arable land.

People are not prepared for what is coming in the very near future. Here's an example. This is being touted for a military application. Just wait till guys figure out they can kill someone they don't like from a distance & not get caught. Mafia. Gangs. Bad neighbors. I'm not kidding.

@fogellxy Eh, hunting’s only really useful for survival in the fairly narrow circumstance where you survive but somehow the vast majority of the population hasn’t. There’s just not enough game to go around.

hunting will give you useful skills for the future, but it’s also only because i think there’s like a 30% chance we’re in an incredibly fucked timeline
