I need to re-assert the fact that Israel has killed more than 186,000 people in the past 10 months. Directly. Do not let this figure fade from your thoughts. Engage with the weight of it or it will crush your morality

Artificial intelligences do not undergo experiences, do not possess a body, do not feel joy or pain, do not mature through relationships, and do not know from within what love, work, friendship or responsibility mean. Nor do they have a moral conscience, since they do not judge good and evil, grasp the ultimate meaning of situations, or bear responsibility for consequences. They may imitate or even simulate, but they do not understand what they produce, for they lack the affective, relational, and spiritual perspective through which human beings grow in wisdom. #MagnificaHumanitas

Mayor Mamdani just launched COGE, the Commission on Government Efficiency, in response to Elon Musk's failed project: "Elon Musk manipulated the fact that so many people across this country want to see a government that is more efficient, he used that as a justification to simply slash and burn so many of the services Americans rely on."

Pope Leo XIV: "Among these ideologies, I consider particularly insidious the one that suggests that every person must earn or justify his or her own worth, to the point of attributing greater value to those who are more efficient or effective. From this perspective, persons end up being reduced to a means of achieving results, a resource to be used and exploited, and are no longer recognized as a proper end in themselves who should never be instrumentalized. The value of persons, however, does not depend on what they achieve or produce. There are rights that apply to everyone simply by virtue of being human, and no human power can legitimately deny or arbitrarily limit them." #MagnificaHumanitas

Young people are always told what not to do. But what should you do? Did you know that most public libraries have a Nintendo Switch to use? That parks show free movies at night? That there's a map of pickup basketball games? Nyc.gov/summer is a map of free and affordable things to do this summer that we made just for you. Because public programs mean nothing if you don't know how to access them.

The last time the Knicks made it to the NBA Finals in 1999 1) We were using the legendary Redbird trains in NYC (if you are native New Yorker old enough to remember you know) 2) Fat Albert store across from Woodhull Hospital was open 3) We were using Dial Up Internet 4) LIRR trains were lined up at Atlantic Yards (IYKYK)

Let me trace the timeline here because nobody's connecting it. Step 1: Scrape the entire internet. Every book, every article, every conversation, every piece of art, every forum post. Do it without asking. Do it without paying. Step 2: Train a model on all of it. Call it "artificial intelligence." Step 3: Go to BlackRock's Infrastructure Summit and announce: "We see a future where intelligence is a utility, like electricity or water, and people buy it from us on a meter." Step 3 is where you sell people's own knowledge back to them. On a meter. They took the collective output of human thought, compressed it into a model, and now they want to charge you by the token to access a version of what you and everyone you know already created. One Reddit user put it perfectly: "They stole all this data from us, the people, our life's work, creativity, art, by devouring the internet and blowing through all copyright laws. Now they want to sell it back to us in the form of a utility." Imagine if someone photocopied every book in the public library, burned the library down, and then opened a subscription service for the copies. That's the metered intelligence business model. And they're pitching it to infrastructure investors as though they invented water.
