Today, I met with Nepal’s Minister of Finance, Rameshore Khanal, to reaffirm @ADB_HQ’s strong and continuing partnership with Nepal. I offered my condolences on the lives lost, including many young people, during the recent unrest and expressed appreciation for the government’s continued commitment to the path of reform. I was humbled to hear how instrumental ADB has been in supporting infrastructure in Nepal, including hydro-electricity, water supply, rural roads, and highways, and how our support is valued, including our long-term commitment. ADB remains steadfast in supporting Nepal’s path toward recovery and stability.

The Minister of Finance, Hon. Rameshore Prasad Khanal, addressed the Panel Discussion on Sustainable Tourism for Jobs, Livelihood, and Growth, where he emphasized Nepal’s rich cultural heritage and stunning natural beauty. He invited the global community to visit Nepal.

Finance secretary spoke in the side event jointly organized by three LDC countries to be graduated next year; Nepal, Bangladesh and Lao PDR during FfD 4 conference in Seville, Spain. Expressed Nepal’s transition strategies together with some issues to be collectively addressed.
