My last bit on Punjab Kings!!!! Believe me no one is more disappointed than me for them not making playoffs! I have grown old with this team, lived every bit of it from frustration to anxiety to enthusiasm!! But I am also a pragmatic one, no team deserves a playoff spot when your bowlers are shelling out 200 every game! You saw how Jofra was committed today to make Rajasthan win with bat ball and field! I didn’t see that same level of hunger from Arshdeep and Jensen, the brilliance of batting unit overpowered the poverty of bowlers, poor catching made matters even worse! Even one standout bowler can carry a team, this team needed a leader in bowling, it never found one! You can’t win tournaments if you are asking your batsmen to score 230 every game! This is still a damn good core, and I hope when the dust settles down, Ponting realises that he needs to come out of his Aussie bias, scout better from varied leagues rather than shelling out on overrated BBL products and add more muscle to the bowling unit! That’s a challenge going forward! And Punjab seriously needs to hire a damn good fielding coach! For fans it’s a jolt which will take time to get over, it’s a difficult pill to swallow. But Punjab Fans are the toughest, we have seen dire straits and still come back with same hope, belief and enthusiasm! Our wait gets a tad bit longer!
