@mitchellvii There would still be a tax bill for schools, fire, police, roads, and other infrastructure, etc. There would just be no property tax on the primary residence. Would the state be able to foreclose on the primary residence if the other taxes were not paid?

What would you do with the extra cash if you no longer needed to pay property taxes? Ron DeSantis lit the fuse big time - calling to wipe out property taxes nationwide because homeowners are basically paying rent to the government forever just to stay in their own paid-off houses. He nailed it: "Homeowners are basically forced to pay rent to the government just to live on their own property. That’s wrong. It’s time to fix it." Pure common sense from a fighter. This would be a massive win for every hardworking American - no more endless government shake-down on your castle. Trump-style bold ideas, let's make it happen nationwide!

Today, Republicans in Congress tried to shovel billions to ICE without any restraints whatsoever AGAIN. Their bill doesn’t even make ICE follow the same rules that as local police officers. I voted NO.

@PattyMurray Don't throw the baby out with the bath water. The vast majority of what ICE did was exceptionally good. What Governor Walz and Mayor Frey did was horrendous. The blood is on their hands. If the local police protected ICE Good and Pretti would be alive.
