@ltelkins I guess I find it kind of boring (petrographically), even though I know its incredibly useful... Most of the garnets I see are also so low temperature (from contact meta & fluids) that they almost seem fake... like you could make them in your bathroom🤔😂

New(ish) paper out earlier this month with Dante Canil documenting new U-Pb geochronology, bulk rock geochemistry, and field relationships of the Jurassic Bonanza arc on Vancouver Island, Canada: doi.org/10.1130/B36716…

A local (and very accessible) favourite outcrop of the mid crust here:

And for the structural enthusiasts - the mid crust is quite unique, where outcrops can display both massive to gneissic fabrics on a m-scale, of course my favourite being the massive outcrops with mingling textures.
