Amorim knows how to coach but I think the biggest thing that let him down was his temperament. At a club like Utd, it’s less about coaching and more about how you manage people. His constant petulant outbursts in press conferences, attacking players, attacking youngsters, saying how much he thought about quitting, calling his team the worst ever etc. One or two of these things in isolation is forgivable but the aggregate of all of these things does not reflect well on him. Carrick has the respect of the players that Amorim couldn’t get.
