Yes, Xabi Alonso won't succeed in Chelsea! He should steer clear and save face after crashing in Madrid with tools, capable of out-matching just any team in the world and EPL is certainly not Bundesliga. In all, he's not fitting for Chelsea redemption. Not at all. He belongs to Diego Simeone class. Rigid with archaic tactics.

If we were to get Xabi Alonso (unlikely but would be my dream appointment) we can already put out a pretty good XI including only the players we already have here. Physicality and height still a big issue for me though. Would also still add some more players. Antonio Rüdiger, Ousmane Diomande, Maxi Araújo, Valentín Barco, Morgan Rogers and Eli Junior Kroupi some players I'd like the club to sign for this system. Would personally also love Kenan Yıldız but I think it's unlikely to get him out of Juve. I also really like Darwin Núñez but not sure he's the right fit psychologically.

The only way Liam Rosenior can work at Chelsea is if we sell 10–15 players and buy what he wants. But that's basically restarting the project. Imagine that! It's a complicated situation we have found ourselves in.

Chelsea had a good spell between 2004 and 2021, winning the league here and there and picking up a few European trophies, mostly irrelevant ones. They were an irrelevant club before that and an irrelevant club after. They never dominated the league, and they never built a dynasty like Manchester United, Manchester City, or Liverpool. If 15 trophies in 15 years makes a club big, then damn me.
