Low blast radius, i.e. it's a single, self-contained function that's only used at the edge of the system, say in a UI component to render a piece of data? I don't really care other than that it's correct. High blast radius, i.e. it's load-bearing and every bit of data in the system flows through it? You better make sure it's the best code you can write.

One idea I constantly think of when writing code is blast radius. What's the blast radius of this <function|file|...> if it breaks? What's the blast radius (in a different sense) when I have to change it? It really determines how I judge the quality of a given piece of code.

According to official government CPI data, consumer prices rose 2.7% YoY & 3.1% excluding food and energy. By design these numbers substantially understate the actual rise in consumer prices. But even taken at face value, they evidence a need for higher, not lower interest rates!
