All three of those books ended up going unfinished. Someday has a totally different vibe from every day which threw me off. I lost interest in A Thousand Pieces of You. And I couldn't get past how much I hate Elloren from The Black Witch.

Sorry I haven't been around. Will talk about books more I promise. Rn I'm reading The Black Witch by Laurie Forest and Someday by David Levithan. I'm listening to A Thousand Pieces of You on audiobook.

Someday is the sequel to Every Day, which is an amazing book that I recommend to anyone who breathes. If you have a heartbeat, you should read it. If you're a vampire... Sorry... You can read it too I guess?...

1. Make your artist username easy to find. "Snailords" vs "Sna1l.0rds23." 2. Avoid dashes, numbers, periods if possible. 2. Consistent [work] name through different platforms to establish yourself as a "brand" and be found easily.

These are my next reads. All young adult fiction. I'll be reading three at once, so if I get bored of one I'll read another. I used to do this in high school and it worked out well then. I see no reason why it wouldn't work now. 🤷

So I didn't finish Spinning Silver. I couldn't get into it. I've noticed a flaw in my TBR jar. If I'm not feeling like reading that genre, I can't force it. I'm going to start looking up the synopsis and if I don't feel like reading it at the moment I'll draw another.

@GlamandGore @nerdcity I watched the whole thing and I'm not sure why I was supposed to have a hard time surviving this? I mean I thought that stuff he's saying was just common fact. We're tiny, nothing matters, etc. It's best to either come to terms with it and move on or ignore it entirely.

I swear it will be weeks before I finish this book. I've got so much to do. I think I've bitten off more than I can chew. I'm sick but still going to work today, but if it gets worse I'll have to stay home tomorrow. Maybe then I can read.

@Draivaden @SnaiLords Writer over here. It's fine to use other names for your monsters and superpowers, but you have to show the audience what it means. Showing is better than telling. Creativity is important, but so is being understood.

@SnaiLords (I am not a content creator). IMHO there are 2 reasons. 1) pre established names come with baggage and implications that might not fit the story. 2) they want to stand out and be unique. Usually it’s number 2. I don’t see a reason most stories can’t deal with the baggage

If you decide to call your monsters and supernatural abilities by other names...please explain. "The Xaxers approach from east of Edenia, their Fatales soar high in the sky, ready to drain the city's elan vitalis." Ha?
