I see alot of folks talk about how video games are costing around $60-$80 especially with #GTAVI costing $80 at launch . In 1994, #sega released a port of the 1992 arcade smash hit Virtua Racing on the Genesis and it retailed for $100 at launch. This port was Sega's answer to the SNES's Super FX chip that used in Star Fox, the reason for the Genesis port Virtua Racing cost higher than most video games at the time because it used a specialized chip on the cartridge called the SVP(Sega Virtua Processor) chip to display 3D graphics on a 16-bit console which predates the Sega 32x. The game had very positive reviews at launch but it had low sales numbers due to the steep price tag. Overall, I feel this game is an excellent demonstration of the 3D capabilities on the Genesis and it was more arcade accurate despite the heavy downgrades. #retrogaming #nostalgia #gamer #shorts #videogames
