On the Ag file. It rained yesterday; the yard had another half inch of water all over the place. The field I just left before the rain ended up with a 1/4 inch, and our south stuff got another half inch for a total of over 2 inches of rain so far since the snow left. Prices are insane for everything, parts-wise and inputs. The only thing steady is, let's not pay the farmers a fair price because they are going to produce a bumper with min fertilizer, high inputs, insane fuel costs, plus frost rain drought snow etc. Have a great Saturday. @CIMRemus @Kotyjo Went for a drive this morning. Need to float 14 quarters of canola. Have one section that won't be seeded until July and will just be rolled up as green feed later on in the year.

@landon707 I had a tractor that would do that. Ended up being the main ground cable between the engine and frame. Cleaned up the connections and corrected the charging problem.

CNH 4wd. Anyone know what causes this error? Newer altenator, batteries cables etc, charging at 13.8V.

Good morning. I'm off to one of my favourite flea markets. It's just before Christmas, and maybe today we'll find some interesting things—perhaps not—but it's going to be a warm 85°F, so just walking around and looking is good clean fun. Powerball is $1.6 billion with a cash payout of $735 million. I guess it's worth putting down a couple of bucks. The land beside us sold, and we now have the southern Sask BTO as a neighbour. The young guy who was selling is gone, replaced by someone not connected to our community, and we wonder why they all are dying. Yes, I could have bought it, but something weird is happening in Canadian ag. Rent at $160+ for marginal land, and land priced at insane levels, just isn't sustainable. Like I said yesterday, give me $2,000,000 for mine, I'll rent it out, and sit out farming for a few years—but it's got to be paid every spring. Carla spouting off every day isn't winning any votes, and she should keep up her bullshit into 2026. At this rate, she'll be losing seats, not gaining. Back to farming: why do we need to subsidize grain dryers on farms? If you want a million-dollar system and can't afford the down payment, maybe don't buy it—but getting Ottawa to cover 1/3 of the cost? You're not farming; you're living off the government tit. Oh, but it's green. Fuck me, it's a grain dryer that some years you won't even turn on. The problem with ag in Canada is that our programs designed to help farmers don't actually help farmers. They help keep others in business. And to the CWB commentary yesterday it sucked the life out of Ag in western CANADA and achieved nothing for farmers. Have a great Monday.

Anyone else seeing Dept of Highways plow trucks out every morning no matter what the weather? They've been running once a day every day here since Tuesday and it hasn't been below freezing at all. Waste of taxpayers money.

@laycock_da29909 Last fall was the first time in a long time someone spread manure on our ground. I know the benefits but don’t appreciate all the twine, net wrap and snow fence that comes with it.

Why do some cow guys leave the twine in the pens or manure. When I had cattle I would gather them all up. The drill picks them all up and wraps up all the packer wheels or drag on shanks. So much time wasted cutting them all off. #pickthetwine

8x12 bed on a F550. I want lots of fuel. Some DEF. Tools. Welder maybe. Screw compressor? Suggestions of best configurations or things to get. And go!

Where I live in Melville Saskatchewan, for the last few years, there has been a Christmas float that drives all over town for a few hours, up and down every block, every evening for a couple weeks before Christmas, playing music. It always brings a smile to my face.

Hardly quick enough with my camera, but a guy hopped in the passenger seat and off ‘they’ went. No driver, fully autonomous ride service. Same price as Uber. Much lower accident rate (website claims). Assume no chit chat during the ride. #futureishere
