राज्यसभा House of Elders की तरह बनी थी, यहाँ ब्रिटेन के हाउस ऑफ लॉर्ड्स की तरह खानदानी सीट्स आरक्षित नहीं की गई थीं। अवधारणा थी कि अपने क्षेत्र के माहिर, पढे लिखे विद्वान/विशेषज्ञ यहाँ बैठेंगे। पार्टियों ने इसे धीरे-धीरे लोकसभा न जीत सकने वाले दफ्तरी नेताओं और फिर सीट खरीदने की हैसियत रखने वाले सेठों का अड्डा बना दिया। कभी सादगी के दावे करने वाले केजरीवाल ने जिस तरह अरबपतियों को राज्यसभा भेजा, उसके बाद आज सीना पीटने से कोई फ़ायदा नहीं। सोचिए अगर संजय सिंह के साथ प्रशांत भूषण, प्रो आनंद कुमार या योगेंद्र यादव जैसे लोग वहाँ होते तो बहस का लेवल कितना अलग होता और भाजपा इन्हें तोड़ने का सोच भी नहीं पाती। तो दोष दलबदलुओं नहीं, उन्हें सीटें बेचने वाली उस राजनीति का है जिसमें केजरीवाल ने सिर्फ़ जी हुज़ूरी को संगठन में आगे बढ़ने का गुण बना दिया और पार्टी में अपनी सत्ता बनाए रखने के लिए गंभीर और प्रतिबद्ध लोगों को बाहर कर दिया।

जब लोकसभा के माननीय स्पीकर को उनके अपने ही है कमरे में तड़ीपार गृह मंत्री @AmitShah के सामने 'रिपोर्टिंग सीट' पर बैठे देखा जाना, यह उस गरिमामय स्पीकर पद के लिए कोई अच्छा संकेत नहीं है, जिसे 'निष्पक्ष' माना जाता है, जिसने उस पद पर बैठकर सदैव सदन की गरिमा बनाए रखने और निष्पक्षता की शपथ ली हो॥ यह अत्यंत ही शर्मनाक है॥ दुनिया के सबसे बड़े लोकतंत्र का अपमान है॥

It is deeply unfortunate that the Prime Minister chose to mislead the nation rather than address it honestly. Let me put this on record. Trinamool Congress has always championed higher political representation for women. We have the highest proportion of female elected representatives in both Parliament and the State Legislature. In the Lok Sabha, 37.9% of our elected members are women. In the Rajya Sabha, we have nominated 46% women members.The question of opposing Women's Reservation does not arise and never has. What we are fundamentally opposed to is the Delimitation exercise that the Modi Government was plotting to push through by using women as a shield for its vested political agenda. What we are fundamentally opposed to is the altering of Babasaheb Ambedkar's Constitution, the division of this nation and the usurpation of power through gerrymandering, by redrawing political contours to hand greater representation to BJP-ruled states at the expense of others. This is an assault on federal democracy. And we will not watch it happen in silence. If this government was genuinely serious about this noble cause, why did it wait nearly three years after the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill on September 28, 2023? Why rush it through when several states are in election? And why couple it with Delimitation? Trinamool Congress has stood for women for decades. We will continue to. But we will not be lectured on a subject that the ruling dispensation neither understands nor respects. And Mr. Prime Minister, the next time you address the nation, have the courage to do so from the Floor of Parliament, where you are subject to scrutiny, challenge and accountability. What you did yesterday was cowardly, hypocritical and fork-tongued. You can feel power slipping through your fingers. And you are prepared to go to any extent to hold on for just a little while longer. That is all this was.

हंगरी में विक्टर ओर्बन का सोलह साल का शासन कल समाप्त हो गया। • उसने प्रचंड बहुमत के सहारे संविधान में मनमाने बदलाव किए। • चुनाव प्रक्रिया को बुरी तरह से प्रभावित किया और चुनाव आयोग में अपने लोग भर दिए। • न्याय व्यवस्था में भी हस्तक्षेप किया और मनचाहे जज बिठा दिए। • सोशल मीडिया ट्रोल्स पर जम के ख़र्च किया, ये ट्रोल्स विपक्ष को बदनाम करने के लिए घटिया पैंतरे अपनाते थे। • ट्रम्प के समर्थन में रैली की, बदले में US-Hungary Friendship Day के बहाने वांस अभी उसका प्रचार करके गया था। • पुतिन को भी दोस्त कहता था। • इजरायल का पक्का समर्थक था। दो दिन पहले ही मैंने रिपोर्ट किया था कि Ytnet news ने लिखा था कि अगर ओर्बन हारा तो EU में नेतन्याहू का कवच कमज़ोर हो जाएगा। ऑर्बन ने उस पर प्रस्तावित हर सैंक्शन को वीटो किया था। • नेतन्याहू ने अपने बेटे को उसका प्रचार करने के लिए भेजा था। • विपक्ष के नेता माग्यार को इसके समर्थक सोरोस से फण्ड लेने वाला कहते थे, Minority का समर्थक बताते थे। • हंगरी यूरोप का सबसे भ्रष्ट देश बन गया था, लोग लगातार ग़रीब हो रहे थे और भ्रष्टाचार चरम पर था। —- इन सबके बावजूद जनता का गुस्सा सीमा पार कर गया तो ओर्बन बुरी तरह से चुनाव हारकर सत्ता से बाहर हो गया।
