@afalkhatib Translation: Israel continues its war against Hamas through groups armed and controlled by the IDF. Even if you want an alternative to Hamas, the question must be asked what there is to cheer about here? This is more of the same Israeli solutions for the Palestinians.

Is Hamas Still Combat-Effective? Over the past few days, anti-Hamas militias operating in the Israeli-controlled eastern part of the Gaza Strip have carried out some daring attacks against Hamas in the Red Zone, seeking to probe the terror groupโ€™s defenses and inch closer to areas where the population is currently concentrated. Though these militias have enjoyed some direct and indirect Israeli support, this latest operation appeared to take place without any air support from the Israeli military and relied heavily on lightly armed infantry units moving around on pickup trucks. In a sense, and while the anti-Hamas militias may have had prior intelligence and some discussions with Israeli officials, this fight was on quasi-equal terms. The confrontations pitted soldier against soldier and favored those who knew the terrain and had experience from previous battles and wars. In that regard, Hamas fighters appeared to have some advantage. There was an initial IED explosion that was detonated in one of the convoys carrying militia members, benefiting from the concealment of rubble. This was followed up by sniper fire, RPG attacks, and machine gun fire to overwhelm the attackers. The militias sustained several casualties, including reportedly two killed and ten wounded. Still, the militias have been increasingly able to enter areas that were previously considered no-go zones due to Hamasโ€™s control and are able to interact with a greater number of the local population. They entered the southern edge of the al-Mawasi zone, filled with tents and displaced people; they also reached peripheral areas in northern and southern Gaza, passing out cigarette packs and some supply parcels to local residents. Regardless, the last few days revealed that Hamas is very much still combat effective and has likely replenished some of its fighting capabilities and established defensive lines to enable the group to push back lightly armed attackers. Hamas is therefore likely to pose a threat to the Israeli military, the international peacekeeping force, or the newly hoped-for Gaza Police Force if they seek to enter the red zone that is controlled by what remains of the terror group. Without significant amounts of armor, airpower, real-time intelligence gathering, and a lasting solution for the tunnels, there will be no easy way to go after Hamas, which is concentrated in roughly 40% of the Strip, along with two million people. The only viable pathway forward is to begin evacuating the population from Hamas-controlled territory into secure and safe communities in the green zone across the yellow line to provide the terror group with fewer human shields and spare civilians harm from the inevitability of the return to war in the Gaza Strip. ***This is a compilation of various clips from the clashes yesterday.

My brother-in-law's infant sister died in the desert after they were expelled from 'Ib, Yemen & his baby brother was killed at the Aden airfield when the Arabs stoned them on the tarmac. So much for "Zionist agents". What on earth is the "perpetual imprisonment of Gaza" in the context of the Mizrahi migration of 77 years ago?

@rasjaffari @Malcolm_Pal9 6/8 The 850k Mizrahi expulsion ignores that Zionist agentsโ€”like in the 1950-51 Baghdad bombingsโ€”actively pressured Jewish communities to leave and populate the new state. One tragedy does not justify the perpetual imprisonment of Gaza or the theft of Palestinian homes.

@esoreie @Malcolm_Pal9 Oh such rubbish, go tweet your obsessive hate to yourself, I've had it. There's one such episode in Iraq which did or didn't have influence on events there. The Farhud was a mass slaughter & the other countries who expelled their Jewish communities didn't need Zionist agents.

They didn't monitor it at all. The borders was completely open & unfenced with infinite crossing points (one huge crossing point) and obviously no surveillance tech existed then. In many areas the local population wasn't even aware of the new mandate borders drawn by French & British officials on a map which none of them knew existed. Bedouin tribes moved freely from Sinai to Arabia, on both sides of the Jordan, from Houran & Bashan to Galilee etc

@rasjaffari @Malcolm_Pal9 4/8 You claim the British didn't monitor Arab migration? False. The British were obsessed with border control. Meanwhile, the 1917 population was over 700k according to Ottoman records, not your 300k lowball. Youโ€™re literally halving the indigenous population to make a lie fit.

@rasjaffari @Malcolm_Pal9 1/8 The claim that very few Polish Jews reached Palestine is a historical joke. The Fourth Aliyah (1924-1929) was nicknamed the Grabski Aliyah because so many Polish Jews arrived. Erasing their presence is erasing the foundation of the Zionist movement's early labor force.

@rasjaffari @Malcolm_Pal9 5/8 Comparing the Nakba to European population transfers is a moral failure. Plan Dalet proves Zionist militias had a blueprint for ethnic cleansing before any Arab army crossed a border. You donโ€™t resettle people by massacring villages like Deir Yassin; you drive them out.

There was mass immigration - ask the Palestinians with names like Masri, al-Kurdi, Khouri, Halabi, Shami etc. eg the people of Jabaliya, Gaza came from Jabaliya, Jaffa who were immigrants sent by the Egyptian electricity company. Yasser Arafat was born in Cairo. I didn't impute all the growth to immigration but almost all were Muslims diluting the truly-indigenous ancient (low birth rate) Palestinian-Christian population - with a much higher birth rate and hence the mega-increase in the Muslim population. Obviously immigrants from the 1920s onwards had natural increase by 1947 the same as anyone else, including the Palestinian Jews.

@rasjaffari @Malcolm_Pal9 3/8 The Arab mass immigration myth is a debunked conspiracy theory. Real historians, including Israelis like Yehoshua Porath, proved that population growth was due to natural birth rates and improved healthcare under the Mandate, not migrants looking for Jewish-made jobs.

Because 25% of the population is mixed (probably higher by now, it rises annually). Most mixed Israelis identify with their Mizrahi side by default but aren't Mizrahim statistically. Example: 3 of my grandchildren who are 50% Mizrahi (Iraq, Tripoli (Libya), Egypt & Palestinian-Jewish (Pekiin)) & my sister's 4 children who are 50% Yemenite & 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild (between 75% Mizrahi and 25% Mizrahi). Tgey're all unidentifiable and none of them are statistically Mizrahi.

@rasjaffari @Malcolm_Pal9 2/8 The 70% Mizrahi figure is a desperate indigenization tactic. Israelโ€™s own Central Bureau of Statistics doesn't support this; the population is roughly split. Using Mizrahi Jews as a rhetorical shield to hide the European colonial roots of the movement is peak cynicism.

@rasjaffari @Malcolm_Pal9 7/8 You mention the two-state solution as if it wasn't sabotaged by illegal settlements and Likud's own charter. Netanyahu himself admitted to propping up Hamas to split Palestinian leadership and kill any chance of a state. You aren't seeking peace; you're seeking surrender.

@BlockedHedge @ArmageddonHQ @BRICSinfo That's the war, idiot. There aren't any tourists. The hotels were either empty or filled with 65,000 evacuees from northern Galilee and the Gaza Envelope. Being uninformed doesn't make you an idiot but calling me retarded in such circumstances, does.

@lilo92140 @ArmageddonHQ @BRICSinfo No, millions of very low budget Christian pilgrims visit Israel every year from Nigeria, South America, southern India, South Korea, ex-USSR etc. The Tel Aviv coastline is choc-a-bloc with low budget hotels in between and around the fancy expensive ones.
