Led by Drs. @SarahELester and @a_rassweiler at #FSU, we focus on marine ecology and conservation as well as sustainable seafood systems. https://t.co/bfZfa0VwKg

Our new #PNAS paper comparing different types of marine protected areas (MPAs) shows that well-managed fished MPAs can provide strong conservation benefits, even similar to no-fishing MPAs pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…

I am recruiting Ph.D. students to join my lab at FSU in 2024. We use quantitative methods, modeling and field work to study spatial ecology of nearshore systems. A particularly good match for students who enjoy playing with high tech toys like autonomous boats and computer vision

#NewPaper: Protecting and restoring #mangroves in Belize will sequester millions of tons of carbon, boost #fisheries, increase tourism, and increase #climate resilience according to models in a new study. Read about these proposed #NatureBasedSolutions: stanford.io/3C4XQb1

We developed a set of synthesized marine protected area design guidelines to help streamline conservation planning and decision making to achieve desired objectives. Read the paper in @ConservationSP and check out the summary below 🧵conbio.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/cs…
