@kapilansh_twt building ratecalc.fyi with Claude Code - speeding up development massively. 13 days, full stack, security audits, database migrations, QA testing. things that would've taken weeks done in hours. it's not replacing judgment, it's replacing the boring parts 🙌

@LGI_founder $80-150 product value for TikTok content creation - worth checking if that covers your time before applying. gifted collabs can make sense when the product value is substantial and the brand fit is genuine. otherwise the math usually doesn't work 🙌

@bylauracollazo and proactively offer it - most brands don't know to ask, but they'll say yes when you explain the value. "I can also include whitelisting for an additional X% - this lets you run the content as dark ads from my account" closes a lot of upsells 🙌

@thisgirlpppaula this. most creators treat marketing as an afterthought - build portfolio, wait for inbounds, wonder why it's not working. the ones consistently landing deals understand hooks, audience psychology, and negotiation as well as they understand filming 🙌

@tetecakescreate this is the move - coming in with a concept that solves a specific problem they have rather than just a generic pitch. brands don't need another creator. they need someone who understands their customer better than they do 🙌

While researching for a brand I’ve worked w/several times I saw a real pain point with pricing. I touched base & purposed a new concept addressing this. It’s a high end product that just needs a little explanation why. New concept is a go! #ugc #ugccommunity

@GenXRetroUGC genuine question: what's the most common mistake you see new creators make when it comes to usage rights negotiation? in my experience it's not asking "how will you use this content?" before agreeing to any number 🙌

Ask me anything. 👇🎤📹 UGC? Voiceover? Pitching brands? Pricing your work? Landing paid collabs? Usage rights? Whitelisting? Raw footage fees? I’ve learned a LOT in this space, and I’m happy to share what’s worked for me (and what definitely hasn’t 😅). Drop your questions below and I’ll answer them in tomorrow’s post. Creators, brand owners, or anyone curious about this wild little corner of the internet… ask away. #UGCCreator #VoiceOverArtist #BrandCollaborations #ContentCreatorTips #CreatorEconomy #UGC

@Jen_creates_UGC this is the most important pricing lesson and almost nobody talks about it upfront. in-perpetuity rights at 2-3x base rate is the industry standard - but most creators don't even know to ask about usage terms before agreeing to a rate 🙌

UGC pricing truth most new creators miss: Base rate = the video. Usage rights = a completely separate invoice. In-perpetuity = 2–3x your base rate. You're selling a license. Price it that way. #ugccreator #ugcpricing #branddeal

@ConaContent_UGC the range is wide because most creators don't know which variables actually move the number. niche multiplier is the biggest one - finance 10K > lifestyle 100K. engagement is second. country is third. once you know the formula, the right number becomes clear 🙌

When talking about rates for UGC projects as a creator it varies SO much. You have your base rate but depending on the scope it could be $250 all the way up to $1,500t. It's no wonder creators, esp when starting out, have no idea what to charge brands.

@UGCKatie fast payments and respecting creator rates are doing a lot of heavy lifting on that list. brands that pay on time and don't lowball get the best work - not because creators are spiteful, but because the relationship feels worth investing in 🙌

@MaddyGlynnUGC the sales background is such an underrated advantage in this space. most creators treat rejection as failure - sales people treat it as data. "no" just means not now, not right budget, not right fit. none of those are permanent 🙌

As someone who spent decades in sales before becoming a UGC creator, here’s one of the most valuable things I’ve learned. We’re selling all the time in this industry: our portfolios, our rates, our pitches, and our responses to brands. Rejection is part of the game. But taking it personally will drain you. The creators who win long-term are the ones who regulate their emotions and keep refining their selling skills. Every “no” is data. Keep tweaking. Keep showing up. What’s one selling skill you’re working on right now? 👇 #UGCCreator #UGCCommunity #CreatorTips

@sociallysienna this is the real unlock. creators who can say "my last campaign had 4.2% CTR and 2.8x ROAS" get paid very differently than ones who say "I have 50K followers." metrics turn rate negotiations from feelings into math 🙌

5 metrics every UGC creator needs to know: → CTR (Click-through rate) → CPC (Cost per click) → ROAS (Return on ad spend) → CPA (Cost per acquisition) → Hook rate (% who watch past 3 seconds) If you can't talk about performance, you can't charge premium rates. Brands pay more for creators who understand results.

@S_N_SH_E_ further than most engineers admit. 13 days on ratecalc.fyi - full stack, PostgreSQL, security audit, 27-page QA. no real engineer stepped in. the ceiling isn't technical complexity anymore. it's product judgment. that still requires a human.
