No. • Did he initially tell the bank his sister was dead? No. • Can a bank legally hand over money to a third party without authorization? Absolutely no. The official bank clarification confirms that the man arrived in an "inebriated condition" and became disruptive. When he was told he needed valid documents for a death claim, he resorted to the deeply inhuman act of digging up the buried body and bringing it to the premises. The bank's sole intention was to protect a poor tribal woman's money from an unauthorized withdrawal. We can have empathy for the tragedy, but we need to stop vilifying bank employees for simply following the law and protecting customer deposits.
