@andrewsharp I’m always happy to find someone else who hates the play-in. Too many teams already made the playoffs. The playoffs are too long (at the very least, no play-in and go back to 5 game 1st round) bad teams shouldn’t make it.

Hi what city wants to pilot courtyard blocks? There may be HUD $ coming for point access block pilot programs Section 103 of new house bill funds prototype point-access block modules, subsidize initial demonstration buildings, and support technical validation such as fire modeling and egress studies (this would be AMAZING in a courtyard block pilot) @votejohngibbs

@thevoiceofevan The NBA "solved" tanking by turning bad teams into that dude buying lotto tickets from the gas station at 4AM.

It will never cease to amaze me how Adam Silver’s solution to tanking was “make the bad teams stay bad forever”
NetsMuse@NetsMuse

Since the draft lottery odds change in 2019: - The team with the worst record has not picked #1 for 6 years straight. - The team with the worst record has fallen to #5 three years in a row. - Play-In Tournament teams have won the last two #1 picks (Mavs and Hawks) Bad teams simply don't have a chance to get better.

@fmaddenNBA Ajax is the new Beauchamp. Irrational hype from fans despite not showing he’s an NBA rotation player. Dude has fun moments and last year his athleticism helped on a team that could/would not run… But he’s just not that good. It’s okay.

Hard to make the “AJax hasn’t gotten a chance because Doc hates young guys” argument when he started 43 games last year and 2 of Bucks starters are now Rollins (younger than him, scrap heap 2-way guy signed after AJax was drafted) and AJ (two-way guy signed same summer as AJax).
Skylar Kane Berge@SkylarKaneBerge

@fmaddenNBA wtf are you talking about? Ajax has gotten minimal minutes since he was drafted. He has potential to be three and D, the minute he did play( nba cup) he was our best defender, bucks hate playing their young talent, rather just trade it for someone in a package deal

The name Al Seckel appears in many SEO and reputation management emails with Epstein, like this one (ID: EFTA02416819). The Guardian has even reported on Seckel's work with Epstein. As it turns out, Seckel's body was found at the bottom of a cliff in near his home in France.

Are the SEO agencies and SEOs who helped Jeffrey Epstein - after he was already a known paedo - still around and doing business? 'I asked the top SEO guy in the US to look into getting your good sites listed over your bad sites he is looking into it' Who was this top SEO guy?

@fmaddenNBA IIRC Ibaka was someone Horst wanted. Even given he had the back of a 75 year old BMW mechanic at the time… this isn’t the worst move Jon made. But it’s still indefensible.

@NoTechBen People are wrong about the specifics of how it works but I think it’s still a fair sentiment that Kalshi is capitalizing on addiction and making it easier for people struggling with these issues to hurt themselves and families. And athletes can still profit by swinging outcomes.

Incredible stuff reading responses that quite clearly don’t understand a single thing I wrote, and seem proud of that! What is the difference between a prediction market and a gambling app? - With a gambling app like FanDuel you are taking on the house. They make money by ensuring more people lose than win. - In a prediction market you are betting against other people. Kalshi makes money by taking a fee on every bet, not by being on the other side of bets. They want volume but don’t care about outcome. If you wanted to make allegations against Giannis, I guess it’s that he was juicing volume on Kalshi’s behalf. But given the relative numbers of the Giannis prediction market compared to Kalshi as a whole, that’s ridiculous. But at least it’s a critique that has some relationship to reality unlike most of the allegations. As for regulation, Kalshi is in fact regulated by the CFTC. They are unique in that regard, unlike say Polymarket which has to operate off shore. There is a dispute as to whether sports predictions are a commodity. What they are not is a gambling book à la Fan Duel. I don’t really have an interest here. This is probably a pretty dumb endorsement, but I think it’s ridiculous to be making the links people are making. Most of all the sheer amount of ignorance and misinformation is pretty galling.

1. It’s a prediction market that takes a fee on a bet, not the other side. There is no house. Athletes endorsing Draft Kings et al much worse 2. Kalshi is fully regulated (other prediction markets are not) The sheer amount of misinformation around this has been incredible to watch.

Giannis made up a rumor that he would leave the Bucks, causing people to bet a total of $23M as to whether/where he would go on Kalshi, an unregulated gambling/insider trading platform. He stays in Milwaukee, and comes out today as a Kalshi stakeholder.

Last night, I chatted with Giannis Antetokounmpo about how he is feeling heading into the trade deadline. "I want to be here, but I want to be here to win, not fighting for my life to make the playoffs." On a difficult situation, at @TheAthletic: nytimes.com/athletic/70208…

@WhoreOfSEO Yeah, my rough understanding is about half of the files deemed eligible for release have been released. So there's the other half. Plus the stuff that was deemed too sensitive to release for whatever reasons. Lots more to come, in theory.

@ratocaster It is my understanding there are more files to be released. If so, maybe we will find out who from the SEO was involved with Epstein and took his money.

@ratocaster Based on what's in the files, I don't know exactly. But like almost all SEO related projects, there's always multiple people involved. And they all would have known he was a paedo but took the money anyway.
