UPDATE: Thai Police Don't Believe Cambodian Man's Testimony, “Hun Sen's Bodyguard BHQ” Claims He Had Resigned August 6, 2025 Police don't believe the testimony of a 36-year-old Cambodian man, believed to be a bodyguard in Hun Sen's BHQ unit, who claims he had resigned. They are suspicious because he has no job but seems to have money. His wife claims she doesn't know if he is a soldier. On August 6, 2025, police from Lamduan Police Station in Krasang District, Buriram Province, arrested Mr. Win (full name wotheld), a 36-year-old Cambodian national, at the home of his 27-year-old wife, Ms. A (pseudonym), in Ban Khok Sung, Moo 9, Si Phum Subdistrict, Krasang District, Buriram Province. During the search, police found a firearm and several Cambodian army uniforms with the rank of captain and the BHQ emblem of Hun Sen's bodyguards. Initially, police suspect he was sent to live undercover to report Thai military movements to the Cambodian side. Police Colonel Atsadanai Pongkan, Superintendent of Lamduan Police Station, revealed that before the arrest, there was an order to check on foreigners in the area. This led to the discovery of an abnormality with this couple: neither of them worked, but they lived comfortably like regular villagers. During the initial interrogation, Mr. Win denied being a spy for Cambodia. He admitted only to having been a soldier in the BHQ unit and claimed he left the military in 2021. Police do not believe him because he frequently travels between Thailand and Cambodia. He last returned in June, just before a clash. After this, they will wait for the military to interrogate him again. Ms. A, Mr. Win’s wife, was asked about the Cambodian military uniform and her life with Mr. Win. She said she didn't know where he got the uniforms and didn't know if he was a soldier, saying they would have to ask him. When asked if he crossed into Thailand legally, Ms. A gave the same answer, saying she didn't know. Ms. A only said that she met Mr. Win about three years ago at a host bar in Pattaya. They lived together and have a one-year-old son. He once told her that he had been in military training, but that was all. She admitted her husband travels back and forth between Cambodia and Thailand and that he last returned in June. When asked if she or her husband had a job during the year they lived in Buriram, Ms. A replied, "We don't do anything." #Thailand #ThailandCambodia #Buriram #HunSen #BHQ #ไทยกัมพูชา
