We're improving the way we share news.
Since its beginning, the way we've shared news and updates regarding Raven's software and services has been through the K0 YouTube channel, on Twitter, and in our community Discord server. It worked quite well at the start, but it has started to show its cracks as Raven has matured. To name a few:
- Twitter and Discord are ephemeral, meaning visibility is either algorithm-dependent, posts disappear quickly in fast-moving feeds or chat streams, and discoverability is poor over time.
- We don't control delivery. The platforms decide who can see our announcements, when, etc. We're at the whim of the platform, and this has shown to not be very reliable as of recent (Discord's ID verification coming soon, perhaps). We can't guarantee reliable deliverability even to our most engaged users.
- They require user participation, meaning that in order to receive updates, users have to have an account, stay logged in, be actively checking, etc. Multiple points of failure.
- They are not canonical sources, and this is the biggest reason. Content is fragmented across posts and threads, not structured or archived cleanly, and hard to reference later.
To solve these issues, within the next few days we're rolling out a new part of our website: Raven Newsroom.
The short and simple is that it's a single, coherent, canonical place for us to share major announcements about Raven software and services. You will be able to sign up to receive email notifications whenever a new release is made. This will become our single source of truth for the latest information about what's going on with Raven.
Newsroom allows us to keep control of our ability to share information with you all, and gives you guys an easier, more consistent way to access that information cleanly.
Raven Newsroom isn't fully available yet, but expect to see it rolled lut over the coming days.

Malwarebytes has removed the block on Raven Search.
Malwarebytes@Malwarebytes
@raventechgroup Just had a reply. The block will be removed. Apologies for any inconvenience!
English

Apparently Raven Search is blocked by @Malwarebytes @SupportMWB as "malware." Raven Search is our public SearXNG instance with a custom configuration and theme.
We're attempting to report the false positive and work with them on having the block lifted.

@Nameless_3110 Talon Lite has been merged with Talon, so now there's just one Talon. Regular Talon now works on any version of Windows 11 (Home, Pro, Enterprise, LTSC, etc.) and in-use systems. Check out the latest video about it: youtube.com/watch?v=ye-Anj…

Talon Lite is here. It's a lighter variant of Talon, compatible with already in-use Windows 10/11 systems, not just Windows 11 Home/Professional fresh installations.

Fun fact: ~49.16 GB of data has been shared through Bin this month. Over the last 3 months, ~157.12GB of data.
Very cool. We hope you all are enjoying Bin.
If you haven't, try it yourself: ravenbin.com

We are still in our "temporary low-maintenance mode" at the moment which means that development operations have been paused (excluding Alternet), but we are making a change to how we will be releasing our software going forward.
We're changing the way we do versioning of our software and services. Historically, we've used semantic versioning, with a major.minor.patch structure. But going forward we will be adopting this new versioning structure:
v Year . Month . Day . Iteration
An example of how this would look: v2026.03.22.128
To elaborate a bit on the Iteration point, that is the total count of versions of the software/service. For example, if there have been 24 releases of Talon total, then this number would be 24.
So, going forward, expect to see this way of versioning for our software and services. I didn't want this to take any of you guys by surprise so I thought it'd be necessary to announce it beforehand.

More updates to Bin:
Bin now provides a QR code alongside the URL that you can scan to get the text/files you're sharing. It's generated client-side, for security.
Also, Bin now has an About page explaining what it is, how it works, its limits, etc. at ravenbin.com/about.

A few of you who purchased our hats should have gotten them by now. For those of you who did, I'm curious what you guys think because I want to make sure the hats are consistently high quality, and if there were any issues I want to get them solved.
If you have a Raven-branded hat, share a photo of you wearing it here in the Discord and @ me, or on Twitter and tag us, @raventechgroup, and we'll feature your photo on our social media with a shoutout to say thanks.
As always, don't feel obligated to buy a hat just like how you shouldn't feel obligated to donate. Definitely helps us out, but we don't rely on them. Buy one if you want one. Thanks.

For context, we do indeed use GitHub for our repositories, but we don't RELY on them for our development. Our executables and source code per release are hosted on our own storage server. Our GitHub repos are pretty much only used for visibility and easy access. And we don't rely on GitHub Issues or Pull Requests for project management and tracking development; we have our own in-house tools for that.
We used to rely on GitHub, a long while ago. Our EXEs were available in the Releases, we simply just used that for the download buttons on our website. We used GitHub Issues/PRs for feedback and development tracking. We used to simply use it for all of our code-related needs, because why not, right?
They suspended our GitHub org for a week and some change over a single false report made to one of our repositories. We had to enter a back-and-forth discussion with the GitHub team spanning that time period, which they would take days to respond and were barely cooperative. During this time, because we had been relying on GitHub so heavily, nothing of ours worked and nobody could download our software.
Once we finally got things back online, that's when we knew never to put all of our eggs into one basket like that. And you shouldn't either. Relying on a massive corporate platform like GitHub with no accountability and which is comfortable shutting down your entire operations over a false report to finally reverse it with a simple "whoops, our bad" is not a good idea.
Our recommendation? Host your own infrastructure.
English

Each day we are more and more vindicated for not relying on GitHub. We would get frequently asked:
"Why not host your guys' site on GitHub Pages?"
"Why not use GitHub Actions for building your EXEs?"
"Why not only use GitHub for your OSS?"
The reasons grow more obvious daily.

A few updates for you all,
I've decided Talon Lite will be archived and no longer offered as an option. But, this is because I'm essentially combining regular Talon and Talon Lite. When the upcoming Talon 3.0.0 update is released, Talon will support fresh and non-fresh installs of Windows 10 or 11, Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education, LTSC, etc.
The update is coming out very soon. I say this because it's quite close to finished, I just need to do a bit of polishing and improvements in the debloating process, then iron out any bugs I find.
In my spare time I came up with a new design for Raven called Carbon. It features blue-tinted grays, softer but still authoritative colors, and gets rid of that extreme glow that I know many disliked. All-around just looks far more professional and clean.
The roadmap has been updated to reflect our current timeline: raventechnologiesgroup.com/roadmap/
Talon 3.0.0 is mentioned as the first item, of course.
One of the new items includes "Temporary Low-Maintenance Mode." The reason this was added is because the first little while after I move out, I'm going to need time to get adjusted and focus on stablizing things for myself. That includes dealing with tax garbage, and finding stable employment. Alternet's development will continue during this time, but the rest of Raven's development operations will be halted. This time period should not last long.
After that, releasing the Playing God documentary preview, which will be the first portion of the documentary.
After that, I'm going to shift focus back onto the still-ongoing Alternet Community Authorization Request. The transparency report can't be released until all items stated in the CAR are complete, and they aren't still due to the constant setbacks with the bank, my personal life, and other matters taking priority like the new Talon update. By the time we get to this item, everything will be stable and calm enough to focus solely on getting it done.
After that, the Playing God documentary. The full version. Finally coming out.
Then, we'll go from there. Thank you all for your continued support.
