@ashoKumar89 @IuMalos @SumitM_X Yes. Signature must be validated, but the permissions/roles are still technically coming from the frontend. Backend will not trust it if the signature doesn’t match though.

@IuMalos @SumitM_X If the frontend can modify the JWT (or its claims), it’s untrusted. Backend must validate the signature and derive permissions from trusted claims or database never from client input.

The Tech Lead says that the frontend will send the user role in every request and the backend will use it for authorization decisions. What should be your reply ?

I met a founder today who said he writes 10,000 lines of code a day now thanks to AI. This is probably the limit case. He's a hotshot programmer, he knows AI tools very well, and he's talking about a 12 hour day. But he's not naive. This is not 10,000 lines of bug-filled crap.

@stephenshivey Hosting websites on a cloud provider is convenient but the “pay as you go” model can be dangerous if you accidentally enable premium settings. Which is what happened here. You go to sleep and wake up the next morning to a huge bill. Kind of like leaving the immersion on.

My wife (stage IV breast cancer) started this protocol about six weeks ago. Her oncologist was skeptical citing a lack of studies. I asked her who would fund such a study and she agreed that the protocol would wreak havoc on the economic model of cancer treatments. We won’t know whether it’s working for her for another few months but it seems to be an asymmetric bet (low downside high upside) worth taking.
