Hey Americans mingling with Japanese folks on X — I need your help.
Real quick history lesson:
Before WWII, Japan grew a ton of cannabis (hemp) for ropes, clothes, fishing nets, you name it. Their military straight-up needed it during the war.
Then Japan lost. The U.S. occupied Japan from 1945–1952.
In 1948, under American pressure, Japan passed the Cannabis Control Act. Basically banned growing, selling, or having most of the plant.
Hemp farming died overnight. Replaced by American stuff like nylon.
Japan’s crazy strict weed laws today? Yup… that started with U.S. occupation and the good ol' “Reefer Madness” mindset.
Now that Americans and Japanese are actually talking on here, let’s fix this old mistake.
Thanks guys 🔥

One month from today, DPS will welcome another class of equestrian teams into the ranks of the Mounted Patrol.
This specialized unit plays a critical role in our mission to protect and serve Texas – combining skill, partnership and tradition unlike any other.
We’re looking forward to welcoming this next class. Let the countdown begin!

@zdr_0x @iijNWqUQ7i41630 it's not common, but I have seen it twice here in the last week

@iijNWqUQ7i41630 I don't recall ever seeing this kind of mess in the streets of Japan, even though I've traveled extensively across multiple cities there. That said, it's been many years since my last visit.
Has this become more common in recent years?

@iijNWqUQ7i41630 this is true, I'm here this week, and heard all the stories about Japan being super clean.
one street smelled like NY. but generally it is better, I hope Japan continues to be the cleanest. I remember when the Japanese fans cleaned up at the WBC, good on y'all

@FactsAboutTexas Texas BBQ is the worst I’ve had out of all the states I’ve had it in. And I lived there

@KimKatieUSA I mean that's basically correct, the best tourists are Japanese. I wish it was Americans, but we are what we are.

I respect Japanese people because they actually respect other cultures and their rules when they travel.
You’ll never see them destroying property, blasting music, or filming TikTok dances where it’s supposed to be dead quiet, honestly you barely even notice they were there because they’re so drama-free.
